I think teams like UL,UC, may still be inelidgible since they aren't in the in the geographic paremeter in the ECAC. USF will be able since they play PSU as well as SU,Uconn,RU,Pitt,WVU "half there schedule"

BC will recieve the Lambert trophy for the 2004 season

UC is also eligible because they too play PSU like USF. At any rate I kinda agree with the Lambert Trophy being awarded to the BE champ but it'd be better if Temple, PSU, BC were in the conference for that to happen.

The ECAC is not a region, it is a membership of schools. If UC is not in the ECAC it won't win the trophy.

yes but the exception is if your scool schedule plays 1/2 of qualified ECAC teams you can win the trophy. Miami and VT have Lambert Trophies, not as many as PSU though

FROM THE BOSTON COLLEGE SITE COMES THIS INFO:

<a href='http://bceagles.collegesports.com/sports/m-footbl/spec-rel/010605aab.html' target='_blank'>http://bceagles.collegesports.com/sports/m.../010605aab.html</a>

Established in 1936 as the "Lambert Trophy" to recognize supremacy in eastern college football, the award has since grown to recognize the best teams in the East in Divisions I-A, I-AA, II and III. To be eligible for the Lambert Meadowlands Awards, a school must be located in the East or play half of its schedule against eligible Lambert teams. The territory includes New York, New Jersey, New England and Pennsylvania while teams in the bordering states of Delaware, Maryland, Virginia and West Virginia and the District of Columbia qualify if half of their schedule features eligible teams.

This year, 156 schools are eligible in the four divisions including 11 in Division I-A, 44 in Division I-AA, 27 in Division II and 74 in Division III. Four separate panels of media, one in each division, participate in a weekly poll and the final poll determines the winners. Playoffs and bowl games are including in the polling.

1. Boston College - 9-3 2. Navy - 10-2 3. West Virginia - 8-4 4. Connecticut - 8-4 5. Pittsburgh - 8-4 6. Syracuse - 6-6 7. Penn State - 4-7 8. Rutgers - 4-7 9. Army - 2-9 10. Temple - 2-9.
=====================
EVEN THOUGH IT MENTIONED 11 1A SCHOOLS THIS YEAR, ONLY THOSE 10 WERE LISTED. Note also that it limits the territory to PA, NY, NJ, AND NEW ENGLAND while saying that the bordering areas of DEL, MD, VA, WVU, AND DC qualify if they play half their schedule against qualifying teams.

I don't know if schools beyond these parameters are eligible. I couldn't find a list of the history of winners. If someone has better info, please let me know.
