West Virginia baseball?
With a move to the Big 12, do we see West Virginia take a step up in a commitment to baseball. Playing in the Big 12 offers something to recruits that playing in the Big East did not, so I assume recruiting will pick up.

Question though is if they will put money into baseball facilities.

Of course, TCU basketball has the same questions to answer with Daniel Meyer Coliseum.

I've been hoping WVU steps up their Baseball team. We def. need a new stadium. Team wise we're not bad but.....not good by no means.....Hopefully we can step it up and be competitive. Will be tough as Big 12 is one of the top baseball conferences in America.

Good thing about the Big 12 though is that the conference is so strong in the RPI that teams pretty deep into the conference standings typically make the NCAA baseball tournament.

True. I think WVU could have a pretty good baseball team if we would just invest in it. We've got a good coach, but we need some better facilities. The BE was very poor in baseball so hopefully we can improve and be a regular in the NCAAs in time. I am a little concerned about the future of our soccer program.

Yeah, men's soccer doesn't exist in the Big 12. I am not even sure if any of the schools (besides WVU who is joining) have a men's program that plays in another conference. TCU used to have men's soccer, but dropped it in the early 2000s.

Big 12 is a decent women's soccer league; although, their historically best program (Texas A&M) is leaving.

We have a pretty good team and real nice stadium. I guess we'll put em in C-usa or something. Here's a question. Im here watching the Albany NY football game and that field is covered in snow. Do any Big 12 schools even worry about playing in snow? Im pretty sure yall dont get it often. Maybe that could be an advantage come November?

Lincoln, Boulder, Ames, Manhattan, Lawrence, Columbia.....all those places get snow in the late fall. So all the Big 12 teams have played in cold weather. Even Stillwater, Norman, Lubbock, and Fort Worth get snow most years. But typically in Jan/Feb so not during football season. But it not like the kids have never seen it.

As for TCU, we spent the last 6 years in the MWC. Laramie, Fort Collins, Provo, Salt Lake, and Colorado Springs.

But FWIW, it is definitely a advantage for the home team anytime a team from a warmer weather spot has to play in really cold or snowy weather. I don't imagine Morgantown will be a easy place for anyone to play, no matter what the time of year is. Morgantown doesn't exactly have the reputation as a easy road win.

Oklahoma State women's soccer has come on strong recently. I know they were ranked #1 at some points this season, are they still #1 in the polls?

Maybe they can win a national title like the Aggies did recently.

That really isn't true since Oklahoma has won national titles in 6 different sports while Oklahoma State has won them in 5 different sports.

Oklahoma State has more total national titles though.

Baseball at WVU will always be a toug sell due to the weather. By the time the weather does get warm enough on mid April to watch a game the season is half over. You may see some improvments but not the overall WVU was promising the SEC.
