RE: Temple Gets Big East Support From The Inside
The BE will keep the AQ so long as they want to sponsor football and until the current BCS contract runs out. After that I would say I would think they will lose it since the entire reason they have it in the first place is gone (they only got one due to the AQ schools wanting schools like Miami, Pitt, Syracuse, and the like to be able to be in the big bowls) unless it serves the AQ school's purposes.

I think the Big East is gonna end up offering them anyway and then we're stuck with UMASS (and an unbalanced schedule again), or maybe should say that they are stuck with us w/o any eastern rivals. If that's the way it works out, then the "Temple haters" may end up being right about this being a bad move to accommodate the Owls while they search for a way out.

Honestly the geographical situation for UMass is no worse in the MAC than it was in CAA, even without temple. And frankly they are a good add.

Maybe you reach out for Appy to balance or look at Ill State..

Appy has become more interesting due to alliance since that changes the likelihood that Appy would be taken away.
