Kim Welch Finishes in Fifth Place at Heather Farr Memorial
Sophomore uses second lowest card of the round to secure a Top 10 finish.

BROOMFIELD, Colo. - Kim Welch fired a 71 in the final round Tuesday to finish fifth at the Heather Farr Memorial at the Par 72, 6,158 yard Omni Interlock Golf Course at Broomfield, Colo.

Welch improved her scoring by six shots over Monday, and was tied for the second lowest scoring round of the day. Welch moved up 13 spots on the leaderboard for her ninth Top 10 finish in her young career at WSU and is now just two Top 10 finishes away from tying Tasha Browner's career leading mark of 11.

As a squad, the Cougars finished in seventh place, and improved their scoring by six shots over Monday's effort.

Stephanie Parsley moved up 22 spots from Monday and finished in a tie for 27th. Jay-Lee Longbottom finished tied for 35th, Donna Bell tied for 43rd, and Lindsey Bogden rounded out the Cougar contingent with a tie for 72nd. Scoring as an individual at the tournament, Katherine Dorris carded a 77, nine shots better than Monday's round, and finished in a tie for 58th.

Our men's and women's golf programs just continue to grow and recruit top players in state and out of state. Walt Williams is doing a great job at WSU and we are very supportive of the teams here at Washington State Univ.
