Great article....I agree totally....if the BE gets 8 or more teams into the NCAA tourney most yrs then the league has a chance to survive

Doubtful, the FB schools will pull out soon enough. Everything is setup for it. Both leagues will have great basketball and it'll give us FB schools the ability to expand if necessary or if the right opportunities are presented without the non-FB schools to acquiese to.

The subject of the status of the post split BE was discussed with a writer out of Providence on the WV state wide sports line the other night...the writer orginially come on the show to discuss the latest WVU bball verbel which is from Rhode Island....the discussion eventually turned to the BE split...basically the writer said that PC was concerned about the status of the post split bball schools...he said the Duncan donut center was in disrepair and the Friars didn't have the cash to upgrade it...if a split occured he thought the bball onlys would not only be in the shadow of the football all sports league but also the ACC since they now have a presence in Boston....he made it sound the bball onlys would much rather stay at 16 and he was concered that the bball only BE may be regarded as being a mid major by fans/recruits in the north east

I believe he is right, but the split is going to happen.
