#Big12 likely #BYU and 2 from #BigEast when #Mizzou leaves, then to #USF #UCF and more next round, year from now. #WVU #CardNation #Bearcats

Well Swaim has been consistent in his tweets, I'll give him that. The likely hood of him being right? Slim to none.

Not that it matters in the long run, but I did ask Swaim if he thought UCF and USF were ahead of UC in the grand scheme...he replied this:

GSwaim BigTime TV/Radio
@MRNelson2 Didn't say that, but could be UC, USF, etc are on the next round of expansion.

Not that it matters...eventually all this crap will be settled, for better or worse.

BYU is out of it. They had discussions with the Big 12 last month and things basically fell apart for several reasons, not least of which is that the Church absolutely loves the idea of Football Independence and aren't quite ready to give up on that dream, certainly not this soon at the very least. Unless there have been some discussions that I am not aware of between BYU and the Big 12, which is entirely plausible, they are out of the picture

RE: Louisville set to announce intentions?
This was all about announcing Strong's contract extention ...not their conference intentions.

Again......WVU may have moved ahead of UofL for Big 12 number 10. While Strong came out "strong" last year, they are having a very bad year this year. Unusual to double down on the contract like this. Not only have they underachieved in Strong's 2nd year, the dysfunction around firing the O-Coordinator mid-season points to "other" problems. Losing to 2 Non-AQS schools at home.....has been beyond worst case scenario for them. There is a long list of "good recruiters", who have failed as head coaches.

I thought the UofL support at Saturday's game was as bad as it has every been.......couldn't have been many more than 2k tops!

They must all have been in my section then. I disagree with some folks estimates on UL crowd. I figured minimum 10k. They were everywhere I looked, and not just in my section but walking in and out of the game and at halftime.

Anyway, I agree the jury is still very much out on Strong. I listened to his radio show the other night and I did not find him impressive at all.

I sat in the middle of the Louisville section because there was so much empty room. Sorry but 10K, no way.

I was guessing maybe 5,000 louisville fans at most. Hardly saw any and there section seemed small. They had some pockets here and there, but there is no way they accounted for 25% of the crowd. Not even close. It would have been a lot louder when louisville had good things happen if there were 10,000 of them.

RE: Louisville set to announce intentions?
I estimated 4-5,000 Louisville fans. Easily their worst showing in Cincy in a number of years. I was surprised that they extended Strong as coach for seven more years and increased his salary by 50%. The guy has a losing record, for goodness sakes. Louisville must have money to burn.

Bingo. what's the harm in extending him if they think it will help recruiting? If he doesn't work out...meh, pocket change.

Wow, amazing the difference in perception. I don't think I ever went more than 10 seconds without seeing a pack of Louisville shirts. Oh well, we kicked their ass and that's all that matters.

If it matters the UL crowd was audible on TV when they made big plays.

For those wondering, Arkilpane told Koch today that UofL did not sell out their 3,000 ticket allotment and returned tickets. While there clearly are UofL fans in NKY who probably bought direct, the original expectation probably was that UofL would sell 8k-10k to their Louisville base.

We estimated no more than 500 to 1000 at most. It was not anywhere near the Oklahoma 3k that they brought. We were shocked! if it were not for their band it would have been almost empty in their sections.

There were pockets here and there in the upper deck where were sitting. But not large masses like we have seen from UofL fans in the past.

They did it right after the INT for the TD. I sat behind the Lou. bench and it came for that side the upper section.

RE: Louisville set to announce intentions?
The only time Louisville fans were really loud was after the defensive TD. That was IT.

I sat two sections over from the Louisville band. As I looked across to the east side, I didn't see too much clapping on Louisville big plays. A smattering of people. So whomever came from Louisville was sitting on the west side. Were they hiding in the west side upper deck?

I was close to Louisville fans, but I didn't hear much from Louisville fans.

It felt and looked to me like this was a decidedly UC crowd. I only had a couple Louisville fans near me and it was two guys three rows back, and I think they sneaked down after the half.

This clearly was not like crowds of the past.

RE: Louisville set to announce intentions?
Here are a couple pictures I took from my phone from the upper deck:

From what I've seen after rewatching the game today the lower bowl was pretty much filled and if that was the Louisville section on the right side of the South endzone, there couldn't be more than 3-5k there. I'm sure there were another couple thousands scattered throughout the stadium but overall it wasn't a good turnout.
