One would think that the second concept follows from the first, that the best leader for the institution would be the most well-rounded and recognize the importance of athletics. Then again, logic is an awful lot to ask from the TBR.

I don't know. I've been trained by life to be cynical when it comes to politics of any kind, so I'm prepared to see a candidate get in office and feed students and alums the same crap we've been hearing for years.

I'll say this, and I would suspect there are more than a few of my fellow students that feel this way: if ETSU wants a dime from me as an alumnus, they have to bring back football. Quit using that money to fund the obnoxious little golf carts that run around writing tickets for pulling through or backing into parking spaces and do something that's positive for the university, or I will take my degree and never come back.

Absolutely. And that goes for alumni also.

I think many of you are setting yourselves up for the big hurt. It wouldn't be the first time.

Do we actually know that Noland supports the return of football? Or is that just the assumption because he's "being groomed" for UTK?

You, too, are correct, sir (as you always have been).

RE: Presidential Search Updates
Manahan comes across befuddled when answering the question about faculty salaries, like he didn't even know that was a problem:

first four interviewees

Quote:“I would have to know from the faculty how you would proceed with that,” Manahan said.

??? Sorry, but this guy can't be President with that degree of cluelessness on that issue.
