In honor of Douglas Adams' birthday, how about the The Hitchhicker's Conference of the Galaxy. Instead of an exit fee, you get UCONN saying, "So long, and thanks for all the cash." Every game will be played to 42....in all sports.

1. Biggest reason. * It will leverage the BIG name that can never be marginalized because of the equity the B1G and BIg 12 and Big East have leveraged over 60 plus years.

2. Unlike the Big East. The word LEAST is able to be applied by media and folks. the word America cannot be shortened or messed with because it would be unpatriotic to do so. (dead serious on this one)

3. Imagine When FOX or NBC are marketing a national coverage because we can now sign a nationwide contract that will hit all over the country when they say BIG America conference VS Big 12 there is no way to say that doesn't sound substantial.

well hiding behind the flag will not work because one can always turn it around and say BIG MISTAKE AMERICA Conference.

Wrong forum there partner. ... why don't we stop fueling the fire over here and post these sort of things on the proper board.

I'm tired of all the bashing of the new conference.. but it doesn't help when a A-12 or whatever the new conference name will be has members starting threads about that conference on this board.

I wrote this back in 2011..... i wanted to merge the MWC/CUSA and have the leftovers crawl back to us. We went another route obviously than the merger. It is kind of NICE to see your idea being used. it just wont have have all of the teams i thought. wish us all the best. were all in this NON AQ together anyway.
