RE: ETSU Fight Song
Interesting! I can distinctly remember our fight song being played in the very early seventies not the late seventies as our person said. And it was stirring and played by a full size marching band. Those were the days. I think both schools should keep their respective songs and be proud of them.

RE: ETSU Fight Song
We had a thread about this once before with Pitt. If you look at around the country you will find a whole bunch of schools who have fight songs very similar another. I am not going to go back and redo the research but I remember finding at least 2 other schools who had a fight song very close to the Penn St/ETSU one plus a bunch of other examples.

I don't really have an opinion either way. I came across this story and thought it was interesting. I agree college fight songs are frequently similar.

RE: ETSU Fight Song
There are several universities that do it. Georgia/Auburn both use "Glory, Glory" as a fight song. Tennessee's true fight song, Down the Field was actually taken from Yale University. Five colleges use Furman's fight song.
Actually, the most unique one I've heard is South Carolina's, simply because there's no other university in the country odd enough to use a Broadway showtune as their fight song.
