SMU?? What a joke!
I can not fathom that the Big East is inviting SMU to their conference.

In the 10 years they have been in the conference, I don't think I have ever seen more than five fans at any of their games in any of their sports. Seriously most high school games double the attendance a of a typical SMU games.

OK, sure for the last few years Memphis has really sucked at football.
So, I get that Memphis doesn't belong.

But what about ECU or Southern Miss. Those teams have done much better both on the field and off the field.

Does the Big East really believe anyone in Dallas gives two flips about SMU. I lived in Dallas for a year, and I can assure you know one in Dallas gives a rats ass,

In Dallas, SMU is not only behind the Cowboys, Rangers, Mavs, Stars, etc. They are beneath a lot of middle school teams.

By inviting SMU, the Big East is trying to return the middle finger that TCU gave the Big East.

So SMU would be the "Token invite"?

RE: SMU?? What a joke!
Relax, these are currently unsubstantiated rumors. But since you decided to be classless and use hyperbole:

42-0.

70-60.

Also, SMU is 2-0 vs. ECU the past two years in football, so I'm not sure what ECU has done that is "much better" on the field. I'll give you attendance, though. And I have nothing to say against USM because we haven't played them in awhile. But what market do they bring?

Fact is, Dallas supports relevant teams. Rangers attendance in 2003 was crap and the Stars had 6,000 people at their game the other day. You put SMU in the BE and Dallas suddenly cares a lot more (given that the BE keeps AQ status, which is another question for another time). Now...I think we would have also seen an increase in relevance if AQ status had been given to CUSA, but that again is another question for another time.

Like I said, this is all rumor at this point, but if it does become true, don't get mad at SMU or the Big East for what happened.

The only joke around here is Memphis.

SMU is a an outstanding University with a tradition of football excellence.

Was Memphis ever in the Southwest Conference? Yea, shut up

Yeah, 2-0 versus an ECU team with the flu and an ECU team that had no defense left.

SMU fans are rivaling UCF fans with the amount of **** they're talking. It's going to be funny when WVU and Louisville leave and you're left beholden to Providence and Seton Hall.

Meanwhile we'll be chilling over here with our easier access to the BCS.

I don't know why he asked her to the prom and not me. She's got a wide ass, stringy hair and crooked teeth, and everyone knows she's a ho.

And besides, I'm way prettier and nicer.

Not what I said or meant. But we all know that the BE is all about markets. They want good football in Dallas.
