I don't see you guys as peons -- you guys are the heart & soul of the best ACC board on Planet "College Sports"
As for timing, unless Swagger has something different in mind, right around the first half of January 2012.

I like it.
One thing that would be cool to incorporate is all of the team helmets like in crush's signature (obviously differently depending on space available).
The other thing is that I like the ACC font italicized like in the first post better than your skins with more gold in them. Do you know what font the ACC uses for their official logo? I know font is always the most difficult part of getting the image "right."

I think that would look sweet.
You could put the helmets in alphabetical order to the left of the "ACCbbs" logo. Like so.
I got the helmets from here.

So, the NCAA and CLC have already sent us nastygrams in the past. So I'd probably quash that idea. Basically you can use either the name or the logo ... but never both unless you cough up the (I think) 5 figures for a CLC license.

About the banner, I've intentionally avoided the italic "ACC" partially for the legal reasons Swagger has stated about, and especially since I have the conference crest faded into the background.
Helmets -- if we were going to use school identities, I'd prefer logos over helmets as 1) this board is multi-sport, and 2) the helmets don't have transparent backgrounds.
I have considered a faded "action" image in the gold background area that could rotate depending on the time of year.

School logo's would look sweet too. If you decide to do something like that, make sure the Syracuse logo has a white outline like my avatar. Syracuse has begun ditching the blue. Our new basketball court is orange and white now. I have a feeling when we officially enter the ACC we'll have new football uni's and a new football field too.
What do you mean by "action image"?

I was wondering if legality was playing a factor in the use of graphics on this site.
Ironically I used to be on the opposite end of such nastygrams. Those were a lot more sinister though. It's kind of funny to me that using these graphics isn't fair use (though I am assuming there are trademark issues I have yet to really learn about) because they aren't being used for profit, aren't being used in a way to represent that you are that brand and if anything are going to expand their market. Either way, best to err on the side of caution.

Yes, legality is a factor. Swagger can provide details if he so chooses.
I, too, have been on the business end of a nastygram. Couple that with whatever details Swagger cares to share, and that's the reason I'm careful about what goes in the banners (as well as the other banner artists).
I believe we can get away with a faded portion of the ACC logo like I have in the current banner mockup, but that's really about as far as I care to push the envelope.
For school pages, and hopefully, we can have some ACC "school" boards become active -- if you want to see an example of what "could" be achieved, look at the current Cincinnati banner where I have the "Bearcat" logo faded in the board title.
