RE: Stetson commits
ESPN calls him the 4th best recruit in Arkansas, and #107 SG in the nation.

I am proud to get a few tall guards. We have pulled a couple of kids out of that area in the class.

Two things are happening. We are recruiting freshmen, and our perimeter players are getting taller.

Don't think that our NCAA appearance wasn't noted by some Arkansas kids as well as out of staters.01-lauramac2

"Billings is considered a lock-down defender (think former Trojan John Fowler)."

If he is even in John's class, that is saying something. JF was one of amy all-time favorite Trojans.

RE: Stetson commits
I got this response about him on the Fearless Friday message board:

He is a great young man from a good family who has taught him the right values. He is a very
good ballplayer who has played for the Wings program the past few years. I'm sure that has improved his game. Being from a small school, he has had to play out of the position he will have to play in college. I even think that he had to play some for the Wings out of what his college position will be. It may take him a while to work into his college position. He also will need to get physically stronger in a weight program, but he is the type of person and citizen you want in your program. Good luck Stetson. Go Bulldogs this year and Go Trojans for the next 4 years.

We're getting long and lean, a big change from a few years ago with the 2nd shortest team in D1. This will be two tremendous classes back to back relying on freshmen instead of jucos. The future looks bright!

Being that it is the part of the state farthest from Fayetteville, I wonder if we stand some chance of building fan support down there if we got a few South Arkansas players. Just a thought.

Well, they have me and a handful of others. I think so. I attended UALR with quite a few people from this area back in the 90's.

Another response on Fearless Friday:

Stetson is an outstanding young man and good student who happens to be a very talented athlete. He is truly worth watching - he and his team make the game very interesting. Not a selfish player at all. Young man that knows the game and loves to play it . . . . and is quite good at.

Another quote from the Fearless Friday
"Watched him play last night, he's a beast, dunks weren't going down but he's fun to watch."
