Expansion is about who you want to be associated with for the next 50-100 years. If the Big East is making expansion decisions based on what happened in Football this year, last year or three years ago they are going about this expansion process all wrong. If you add a school it is forever and you better be thinking about it that way.

Expansion is not a short term proposition. The Big East must be very sure about which schools they want to associate with for the LONG HAUL. This is not a two or three year expansion project.

Memphis, East Carolina and Central Florida should definitely be added to the Big East.

Last years or this years BCS numbers should have nothing to do with it.

If the BE is going to keep its AQ status then they need to put some wins on their schedules. A bad team may benefit you more than a mediocre one.

I'm an idealist. It's looking NOW like 2 will get raided:

UCF, ECU, Army, Navy, Air Force, Boise State

All Sports: ECU, UCF, Houston, SMU

C-USA is a farm league for the Big East......

Crap rolls down hill, that's the lesson to be learned from this entire thing. The SEC, B1G and Pac can poach anyone. The Big 12 and ACC can poach the Big East. The Big East can poach CUSA and MW. Those two can poach the Sun Belt and WAC. They poach FCS.

Let's never think otherwise ever again.

Anyone who thought differently was an idiot. As long as a BE exists it can take from C-USA. C-USA lost it's one chance to stand strong and win the battle in 03. If they could have done that then they might could have won, but they didn't, and there will never be an opportunity like that again. If any of us get an offer we jump, even if we know it's a risking and dangerous proposition.

Good geography, easy East/West division set up, all sport members, good football, 2 very good basketball programs (temple, Memphis) to replace Pitt and Syracuse.

I don't get the fascination with service academies. Army was a horrible experiment in CUSA, not all sports additions, just adds to the dysfunctionality of the Big East, Air Force is a horrible geographical fit. I don't get it. If they do this I predict this will be a horrible move. No natural rivalries with any existing BE teams.

I chose 4+ because the only scenario where I think UH is not gone is if UCF is the only one grabbed.

However, if UCF and ECU are BE bound, and Boise St. stays in the MWC, then you can bet your ass UH, SMU, and UTEP will be headed to the MWC.

So in closing CUSA is either losing just one school or 4+

If the BE poaches from too many more teams from cusa, it might as well be cusa from 03. Add in BSU, they can call it cusa stout.
