Liberal Media trying to shape the Republican Race
As people continue to decide which of the candidates looks the most presidential AND can beat Obama, remember the Liberal democrat controlled press would like a hedge against an Obama loss by getting the most liberal of the Republicans nominated. They are trying to tear down everyone but Romney.

Perry... step one declare most of the jobs created in Texas are minimum wage. step two his ideas are two far right to allow him to be an effective POTUS, he is a creationist no way he could balance a budget. 01-wingedeagle Then dig up dirt which btw occurred while he was a democrat and was never made an issue. Remember Perry is hated by the Trial Lawyers of America.

Bachmann... easy she doesn't have enough experience to be POTUS. 01-wingedeagle Throw in her view being even more right wing than Perry and you got a extremist Tea Party Candidate. And the deciding factor only liberal women are smart enough to become POTUS.

Cain... he's a sell out. Only liberal blacks are understand African American problems so how can he possibly be POTUS to all people? He hates Muslims.

If Christie had ran... he's too fat to be POTUS. He's to liberal to be a Republican.

Bottom line the press want to steer the Republican primary to Romney. Why? Romney is McCain Part II. He's the "hold you nose and vote for him" candidate because you don't like Obama. Romney wins the nomination I'll either not vote for POTUS or vote for third party candidate. Republican party needs to stop picking the next in line... Bob Dole, John McCain, and I'd even put "W" in that class.

I have yet to read the whole post but I have a couple of quick questions. Why would the "liberal media" prop up a guy who actually COULD beat Obama rather that some far rightwing nutjob(3/4 of the Republican candidates) who wouldn't have a shot at winning? You got this "thought" from O'Reilly or one of the rightwing propagandists, right? It certainly wasn't something you came up with on your own.

oops. Almost forgot my other question. Can you please tell me what is incorrect about the items you seem to claim are wrong about Perry?

RE: Liberal Media trying to shape the Republican Race
Any thought that the RNC is the one steering people towards Romney? He (and Huntsman) are the only candidates likely to be supported by independents. Obama was a better candidate than McCain in 2008, but he may not be the better candidate in 2012.

It's up to the GOP to nominate a candidate that isn't scary to independents, and that means that Perry, Bachmann, Cain, and Santorum are all out.

Independents are running from Obama. There is no one the Republicans can put up that scare them more than him.

As an independent, I must politely disagree.

Of course I can't point to an individual and make that claim but using the plural, I can.

I'm pretty sure you don't speak for all independents.

Quote:In Gallup polling, only 9 per cent of Independents and just 20 per cent of Democrats are satisfied with the course America is taking under Obama, the lowest levels of his presidency.

Quote:For the 2012 election, Obama held a seven-point lead among independents in May. Now, the generic Republican leads among independents by eight points.

http://www.csmonitor.com/USA/Politics/Th...poll-finds

..and that was from July. I doubt it has gotten any better for Obama since then.

RE: Liberal Media trying to shape the Republican Race
Being dissatisfied with the current situation is exactly why the presidency is the GOP's to lose. I am merely suggesting that the RNC may be worried about whether or not the candidates that are farther right may lose them the election.

The OP said that it is the media. I am asking whether the RNC is using the media to pick a candidate that will ATTRACT independents.

It's always better to have a candidate that people vote for, not just hope that they're voting against the other guy.

Don't you know that ALL the candidates (except for the 2 you mention-who are actually Democrats according to the posters on here) are actually in the center and not far right. It is just that the line has moved so far left that the middle looks right. 03-lmfao
