Quote:MIAMI (Sept. 30, 2011) - FIU Head Basketball Coach Isiah Thomas announced today that U.S. Century Bank Arena at FIU's south campus will play host to the "LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, and Chris Bosh present the South Florida All-Star Classic" on Saturday, Oct. 8, at 7 p.m. ET.

Proceeds from the event will go towards Mary's Court Foundation; a foundation established in honor of Coach Thomas' mother, the late Mary Thomas.

"This will be a great event for FIU and the South Florida community," Thomas said. "We are thrilled that some of the world's greatest basketball players will put on an entertaining show here at FIU. It's also fulfilling to know that this is being done for a good cause. I can't thank LeBron [James], Dwyane [Wade] and Chris [Bosh] enough for helping put this together."

A number of NBA superstars are expected to take part in the event along with James, Wade and Bosh, including Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook, Carmelo Anthony, Amare Stoudemire and Chris Paul.

"It is exciting to be able to bring an event like this to South Florida," FIU Executive Director for Sports and Entertainment Pete Garcia said. "It is also great to see all of these NBA superstars come together for a great cause here at FIU."

Tickets will go on sale on Monday, Oct. 3, starting at noon at the University Credit Union Box Office located in the first floor of the R. Kirk Landon Fieldhouse at Alfonso Field at FIU Stadium. Fans can purchase a maximum of two (2) tickets per person up until 3 p.m. If tickets remain after 3 p.m., fans can purchase up to four (4) tickets per person. Tickets will cost $50.00 for upper bowl general admission and $100.00 for the lower bowl reserved. There will be no phone or online orders taken.
