Anyone able to read the article on rivals about the five things huggs must do to hang around?

1. Win the BE in UC's inaugural season in the conference

2. Advance to the National Title game in the tournament (may need to win an outright National Title)

3. Replace Nancy Zimpher

4. Replace Phil Cox

5. Replace Jeff Wyler

Obviously the above are tongue in cheek, I usually leave this to others but sometimes I get so pessimistic...

They forgot to add:

6. Somehow help Reds turn things around and make it to the World Series.
7. Help the Bungles at least make the playoffs if not AFC Championship game.
8. End unemployment in Cincy.
9. End racial tensions.
10. End world hunger.
11. Reach peace accord in Middle East.

If Huggins can do all this, he may be allowed to stay at UC......maybe.

I read the article. It wasn't really about what he has to do to keep his job. More, it was 5 clues as to what his future might hold.

1. Keith Legree being reinstated (Talty said this is good news, as why would UC reinstate him, if they're going to buy him out, and revamp the coaching staff?)
2. Recruiting (If Huggs can land a few kids, that would bode well fo his future. Also, would he be going all out on the recruiting trail if he was about to leave UC)
3. Pettinella's transfer. (why would he transfer if Bob was about to be bought out)
4. Tyree Evans situation (If he is aquitted, this would be postive press for Huggins and UC)
5. Huggins mood (If Huggs is hiding from the media, that could be a clue to his future)

Talty basically painted the picture that based on these clues, it doesn't appear Huggins is going anywhere, anytime soon., Draw your own conclusions.

Has this administration done anything that makes sense? I wouldn't bet that they are thinking that far ahead.

If he does get aquitted and reinstated, the media/other fans/whatever will all say how Huggs is bringing in more criminals. Aquittal in a court of law doesn't seem to influence public opinion.

I gotta admit I had that in Legree's case. Although not guilty, he certainly didn't appear the least bit sober. Well, I'll accept the verdict, but as Goin stated in the papers, he has to make sure it doesn't happen again. Normally I don't overreact on image issues, but now that Huggs' job is on the line, every one of these incidents is a big deal.

As far as being hot on the recruiting trail (2 on the list), I see this as a no-lose situation for Huggs. If he's cut loose, he's got the kids locked up for wherever he ends up. This point has been discussed a bit.

What does his mood have to do with it. Huggins has never really loved the media. Why would him hiding from the media be a clue when he does that most of the time anyway?
