And so what?
College football fans across the country if asked about Toldedo will think, "Oh, yeah. They're pretty good. They had Ohio State on the ropes for their entire game with them. Yeah I remember, I saw that on ESPN."
Forget the Syracuse game, if you don't think Toledo starting 0-1 in conference this year would be a big deal, I don't know what to tell you. It would set up a situation where NIU (potentially) wouldn't have to win in the Glass Bowl.
I was really actually commenting on NIU's inability to generate any good publicity or excitement from NIU's game with Wisconsin as compared with the great amount of good publicity Toledo got accross the country by playing Ohio State close.
Other than that, It's Toledo. I could care less about their record.
if they were 10-0 or 0-10, I'd still want to beat them--- bad!

If Toledo loses to Syracuse and you couple that with OSU's loss to Miami and Toledo's beating at home by Boise...well, it's square one again...Anything they may have gained...is history.

True. The beating at the hands of Boise hurt them.

Ohio State's loss to Miami did not help.

Kellen Moore passed right through Toledo, no doubt. One of our senior starting CB's missed the game with an injury and a true freshman started in his place. We have three starters on defense out for this game against Syracuse tomorrow too, so we'll be exposed tomorrow as well. However, the Boise State game would have been closer if Toledo did not turn the ball over deep in Boise State territory 3 times. Instead of 40-15, it could have easily been something like 40-28.
Ohio State is not the Ohio State they've been, but they are still a top 5-6 Big Ten team.
