Funny you mention that. I found what I thought was another article from ESPN about the match up. It was identical except in a 5 line last paragraph it mentions the loss and that Carder threw for 300+ in WMU's largest margin of victory as a D1 program.

Chose not link it as being redundant.

Here's a pretty lengthy ESPN column about the Illinois matchup and the '08 game (with video of one of the players talking about it).

Glad to see Zook remembers what happened two years ago.

The Sun-Times may have not have mentioned it, but the Illinois players definitely remember!

On behalf of most Huskie fans, good luck Broncos. Beat the "Cheating Illini!"

It's good to have our guys know that Illinois isnt over looking them. It's one thing to prep for someone who may be over confident it is another knowing they aren't and they will be laying in wait.

CMU was important. But as Carder said, it was a springboard (to opportunity). There is no moral victories however, if you play your dead level best and the other team still beats you, you have nothing for which to be ashamed.
Either way, WMU brings its best game that spring board can catipult them to the next level. Everyone knows beating UT and NIU on the road will require even a better effort than against the Chimps. Raising the bar and focusing on nudging it each week will make their "knife edge" even sharper. All of which will be needed as the season progresses.

HuskieBob is right - Go Broncos! I want nothing more than to see WMU hand Illinois their butts on a platter. Good luck to your team tomorrow.
