Kill>Doeren
I know Kill went off in a bad way some think he made the decision prior to the MACC game and a lot of you will never forgive him for that.

In my opinion Coach Kill and Staff knew how to plan and prepare for a team.

Coach Kill was a good coach and knew how to win.

The reason I like kill is he was gutsy and took a chance for plays.

FAKE PUNT vs PURDUE to seal the deal for example

I believe if Kill would of stayed at NIU we could of been the Boise the TCU and eventually built a dynasty in the MAC and won some championships.

So far in my opinion Coach Doeren was good at planning a month in advance to ARMY but whats to plan they have been running that offense for years to come and NIU always has been good at stopping the run.

Just my opinion let me know your thoughts other then KILL LEFT

jury is still out, way too early to judge. At least when it comes to giving him a fair chance. We were 1-2 to start the season off last year, so lets see what happens.

I don't see how anyone can even begin to suggest that after 3 games into a guy's head coaching career. Kill had head coaching experience even before he came here as head coach. Although some of you felt he didn't perform that way. Now, you expect DD to be able to appear experienced and make all the right calls? And, to top it off you feel you can judge how good he is after 3 games?

Not that he will be a HOF coach, but I'm curious how many HOF coaches did their very first 3 games as a head coach.

Stop it. 3 games in. Can't have that discussion till at least end of year. Funny thing is that for first 5 years, Novak's teams were aweful. It is a learning experience. Kill's teams never played a team as good as wisconsin.

RE: Kill>Doeren
Ridiculous to compare a first year head coach and his staff to a 10+ year head coach and the majority of his staff with him through the years.

Kill's first year here we went 6-6 with the rare non-AQ gift of an at large invite to a bowl game.

2009 the team defeated Purdue but he couldn't get the team prepped for Idaho AT HOME. Then we lost to Toledo witch was a sub .500 team. At 7-5 we were lucky enough to get a second at large invite to a bowl game.

If we would have had our 2008 or 2009 record last year we would not have gotten a bowl game either year. Ask 8-4 Temple who defeated the BE conference champ.

So you think Doeren hasn't taken chances? We have seen the O going for it on 4th down outside of the red zone in every game. We also had the onside kick in the 1st quarter last week.

Yes maybe the new staff needs to jell more or they need to figure out the other team better but Kill did no better in OOC play with all his and his crews years of experience in his whole three years at NIU.

RE: Kill>Doeren
Kill's record by the third game 2010: 1-2
Doeren's record by the third game 2011: 1-2

Kill's record by the third game 2008 (his first year as NIU's coach): 1-2
Kill's record by the third game 2011 at Minnesota: 1-2
Kill's record by the third game 1994 (first season at Saginaw Valley): 0-3

See, comparing people to their predecessor doesn't really stack up.
You wants I do Novak next?

Novak's first season as a coach: 1-10
Novak's second season as coach: 0-11

I think you get the point troll.

Regarding Purdue. HWSNBN didn't call the fake punt.

Criticizing the coaching staff while comparing them to previous coaches at this point early in their first season makes us all look like fools.

RE: Kill>Doeren
sorry all you guys are talking about being upset on the season and I wanted to livin up the chat room!

Its my opinion and I am going to stand by it.

A lot of the current players loved KILL and would stand behind it as welL!

just free to state my opinion sorry if it offended anyone

Point is you guys expected soooooo much from a first year coach!!!!! so now that I mention that I think KILL is better as a coach you guys get all angry and talk down on me!

some people had NIU going undefeated but in reality a new coach that is likely possible

Many were his recruits. Some still a hold over from Novak. Not surprised.

So stupid - it has been 3 games - you can't judge anyone on that. Recruiting is king in college football, lets see how he does this year.

Kill is a bozo, and I wish him the best of health, but he was terrible at time management, didn't evaluate talent well - the Harnish decision last year was idiotic, and he was a selfish ass!

I think it is fine he left but he didn't prepare for the MACC game. He was busy watching tape with his assistants of Minny.

The reason behind Harnish not starting first game was that Kill was told that harnish may never play because his KNEES! He had a bad injury but luckily we have good trainers in KAMMY and she rehabed him to tip top shape.

You really think he did that because Demarcus was a better option. No !!!

He def wanted Harnish to open up and get comfortable with his style in the 2nd game vs. NORTH DAKOTA who is a D1-AA team

NEVER THOUGHT ABOUT IT^^^^

GLAD I HAD THE INSIDER INFO!!!!!

Obviously why put harnish in the first game vs a BIG 12 team when he was a no go for the season.

That would risk him getting hurt before the season even started

RE: Kill>Doeren
Too soon to say. On your point about what would've happened had HWSNBN stayed, I don't think we'd ever get to Boise/TCU level, but conceivably we could've been consistently good (and we might still...) I do think he got a lot out of the players he had. Thing is though, he wouldn't have stayed, at anything close to what we were paying him. There's no way. And actually, I'm not even sure his health will allow him to continue coaching....who knows?

And I don't remember the last time we've lost so much on defense going into a new year. I'm not even worrying about the coaching yet, other than nitpicking about a few things they do.

The only thing I question - not criticize - is the conservative play calling against Wisconsin and the early and frequent substitution of Lynch for Harnish. But, there could have been a good, logical reason for it that I am not privy to.
