It all goes back to the fight that he started in 1992.....I will go to my death bed believing that WVU was screwed out of that game

Let me help you out--Jackson you were screwed out of that game :pooh:

We lost the game and the refs gave us an extra chance. It helped us to finish #6 that season and playing/winning in the Fiesta Bowl. Thank You BE refs

--- Yeah..thanks for the honesty TexanMark...I think you are one of the few SU fans I have seen that will admit something fishy took place in that game ....the Eers got you back the next yr though...54-0....I believe that is still the worst loss SU has suffered in the Carrier dome

Actually you beat us 43-0, but what's 11 points among friends. :) Interestingly it was the first real WTF loss we had under Coach P. The team was so frustratinging to watch--world beaters one week then all of a sudden a WTF loss of epic proportions, i.e. 62-0, 43-0, 51-0, ect... and losses to some really bad teams. The GT and Temple games sealed his fate last Dec. He was a good man but it was time for him to go.

If I remember correctly wasn't it a very late hit out of bounds that caused Graves to throw the football in the first place? Not defending him or anything, but there was definitely something that caused the fight.

He's a freaking Soldier.

A Soldier laid up for the year due to stupidity.

Marvin Graves action literally should had him thrown out of the game. He was the victim of a late hit but he spiked a FB off a players head. WVU was playing stupid with the late hit but after the fight they lost three players but Graves was still in? That I never understood.

Instead SU got a second chance and pulled out a win and went onto the Fiesta Bowl.

-- WVU just didn't lose three guys of off defense...but three All- Big East Defenders....Tommy Orr was the recipient of the Gaves blow to the head was one the players ejected...but not Gaves himself

-- Two things happened in that game for WV fans...#1..A true dislike of Syracuse begain...#2 That day marked the begining of many Mountaineer fans parnoia that somone in the BE office "is against us"...and the yrs that followed anytime a missed call or officials mistake has cost WVU a game( and there have been many instants of just that happening) fans will flood the talk shows saying that WVU needs to hire its own officials for games like it did when we were independet and that the conspiracy started " in the '92 Syracuse game"

I think WVU-SU should play 1st game every year. This is another good rivalery that has built the Big East into what it is today.

"Battle of Schzwailder Trophy"

I would have no problem with that as long as the game is on ABC/ESPN every season.
