Without the consistency of Florida, FSU and Miami - I would beg to differ. Once in a while some team in the South finds the lucky egg - aka: UT and LSU. My opinion - football excellence is pretty much spread around currently - USC, Michigan, OSU, Oklahoma, UT - on and on and on.

And as far as off the field - you have to be kidding. Oh that's right the schools in the SEC are all academics first institutions that have never and never will find ways to cheat.

As far as Eastern football goes - I do hope the UofL goes 10-1 (loss to Mounties) but my thought is this - It ain't gonna happen. Life on the road week in week out in the BE will be much different than life on the road in C-USA. I have 20+ years of experience following both leagues.

What exactly is "off the field football"? If it means assaults, DWI's domestic problems, academic fraud and cheating, then yeah your right. Southern football does have it all covered.

You are right, I should clarify off the field. Thanks. I am refering to tailgating, fan support, tradition, etc. I wasn't thinking academics. I will admit, the greatest egg head schools are in the northeast minus a few like Tulane, Vandy, Duke and maybe a couple others.
