The suddenness of it all is what I am still having a hard time absorbing. It really is taking time to sink in.

From an institutional standpoint, I've always felt that if Big East football were to fold, we belonged in the ACC. But since we didn't get in twice before, I also hated those southern besterds.

Cheers,
Neil

This. Thursday we're looking for a couple of BE expansion candidates, Sunday we are out the door gone. Shoot, the Aggies haven't even closed on their move and they've been dubbing around for months.

Neil, Yankee has traditionally been a curse word in the South, but given that natives are almost outnumbered in our metro areas these days, not so much any more. We should all get along very well and while you are sure to take some ribbing because of you geographical location (damn bunch of yankees) it's all in fun. Just so you know, NCSU are the rednecks, farm boys etc, UNC are the elitists, Duke is a bunch of snobs from NJ, WF is I don't know everybody likes or are indifferent to WF, Miami are the thugs, Clemson (see NCState), UVA (see UNC but throw in Thomas Jefferson) and MD hates the state of NC. It will be interesting to see how our two new additions get stereotyped.

The ACC has an excellent management team. The inclusion of Pitt and Syracuse was well thought out, well planned and well executed.

You guys will fit nicely......Welcome aboard.

I think SU is already being stereotyped along the lines of BC, which I hate.

Cheers,
Neil

Agreed about the ACC management team. But then as a fan of a former Big East team, I'm not sure that's saying much. 03-lmfao

Cheers,

Thx. As much as I hated this idea at first I'm starting to warm up to it. I plan on making road trips and visit my brother down at Ft. Bragg and heading to Pitt @ NC, NCSU, WF, and Duke games. I'm def anticipating road trips to Death Valley and to Doak Cambell.

As for stereotypes, WVU fans always called us yinzers.

I think expansion was managed so well this time, because it was such a cluser f**k the last time and they didn't want it to drag out in the press for 3-4 months again.

Hopefully adding Pitt and Cuse will help the ACC get it's basketball mojo back. I think one reason it dropped off was because schools couldn't sell to recruits that they'd play UNC and Duke twice each every year. Now, it'll be nice to have home games vs. Pitt and Cuse every other year.

Sounds silly, but it is nice to at least see fellow Cuse and Pitt fans on this board. Feels like being the new kid in school.

I am still processing this...so sudden. I think I am ultimately excited, it's just different. Good to be back with BC, Miami, and VT...and continue to stay with Pitt. If only we can get UConn to come over!

If you are in Fayetteville to visit your brother you will only be about 60 miles from NC State, 80 from Duke and UNC. And it's a fairly leasurely drive until you get to Wake Co.

The trip from Fayetteville to Wilmington was a great lil trip through the wilderness.
