Troy could have won this game with a perfect effort. But the continued special teams horrors and two deep redzone trips with zero points is horrible. The D must cover the flats, stop the run, stop running up the middle, finish great drives, catch balls in their chests in the end zone (3 dropped), and run correct routes.

The receivers have gotten a little bit better since the Clemson game. Offense had 450+ yards against one of the better SEC defenses.. and Arkansas wasn't playing their 2nd team.

I am not my usually furious, depressed self after this game, despite the fact Troy could have won it by making just a couple of fewer mistakes.

All those pass drops - at least four were touchdowns in the end zone. Two easy missed FGs. A couple of huge run/pass plays, one for 50-something yards and a TD when Massaquoi took out his own teammate about to make the tackle by going tor a big hit instead of a wrap-up tackle. Eliminate that bizarre play and give us back the two easy FGs and Troy wins against No. 14.

Eliminate the unbelievably biased SEC refs, who yet again (South Carolina and LSU come to mind) screwed us out of a roughing the kicker penalty - immediately after which Arkansas scored on a big play - and all those missed interference calls on the Arkansas defenders, and Troy has a shot to win. As the TV guys said, that one pass was "not catchable", Mr. Ref, because the Hog D-back knocked the receiver to the ground before the ball got there!

This game shows that with some better communication between Corey Robinson and his very young receivers, Troy will be good. If the defense can cover the quick out and flats route, Troy will be good. The D's hitting and toughness, and pass rush certainly were there. I think Troy had four or five sacks?

We won't read this in the national press, but Troy had about as much total yardage as Arkansas and Robinson threw for 373 yards and three TDs. Fantastic, even considering he made a few bad throws and failed to communication on some others. Arkansas played its starters the entire time, including during Troy's last drive (Troy had the ball for the entire fourth quarter).

Don't count out the Trojans for yet another Sun Belt championship.

Did you notice all the holds on Massaquoi that were right in front of the refs? That pass interference call the refs took back made me livid. Penn Wagers and company is known for these absurd penalty calls in OOC SEC games though...

That Wagers guy should have been fired long ago. He screwed Troy the first time the Trojans should have won at LSU (not the comeback game), I know.

The more I think about those missed chipshot FGs and flat-out drops in the end zone, I wonder even more, "What if ..."

I really wish Troy will reconsider scheduling so many top tier teams, especially early. The Trojans need to try to get games with the ECUs, USMs, UCFs, Louisvilles, even low-end SEC and ACC and Big East teams, and add in a I-AA.
