Interesting. It will also be interesting to see where things are AFTER the season.

It's hard to buy those when they have the a-sun over the MAC. There's just no way...very few teams in the Asun could actually compete with macs mid bottomers, let alone win.

I do agree lets see how the season goes....I CANT WAIT TILL ITS HERE.

Read it again--It is the Atlantic Ten

It is the best 1AA conference in America. Several of their teams have defeated BCS teams.

Teams include Villanova, New Hamphire, Maine and Delaware.

Yep and they have produced a ton of 1-AA NCs lately.

Whoa, my mistake. Even so, there's no way they're better top to bottom than the mac. When you say BCS programs, i think schools like temple, duke, and kentucky.

Toledo, Miami Ohio, Bowling Green, NIU, Kent State, and Akron would likely mop the floor with the entire conference. The remaining teams in the MAC would at least be competitive.

Not exactly, the Atlantic 10 is really that good in 1-AA football. Delaware most seasons can give just about any D-1A team fits. They likely won't win against the best of 1-A teams but they won't be embarassed either.

Sagarin made a big mistake. He has the MAC listed as having 13 teams and he has Independents listed as being 3 teams. Temple does not become a member of the MAC, meaning they will not count in the MAC standings or be eligible for the MAC title game, until 2007. If this error is not corrected his ratings will unfairly penalize the MAC, this year, for Temple's blundering ineptitude and probable winless campaign. Kit-Cat, if you're reading this, you might want to alert the MAC board and galvanize your fellow fans to e-mail Sagarin asking him to fix this error.

i don't think it really matters. Temple is still Temple, after all. They will be just as bad in the MAC as they were in the Big East, but they may have a few more wins to show for it due to the relative weak competition. In other words, instead of 1, 2 and 3 win seasons, they might eek out a 4th or 5th in really good years. But i doubt a couple extra wins over an Eastern Michigan or Buffalo would boost their sagarin rating much.

WVUcrazed, my point is that the MAC would be hurt by Temple's upcoming bad season, and it shouldn't be. A future member of a conference shouldn't affect its ranking until it actually joins, not two years in advance.
