Anyone know why Melvin didn't play and is there an update on Moore's Shoulder?

Sorry if this is in the game thread, I didn't want to go through 849 posts to find it.

Asking on the NIU Huskiewire live chat right now... hopefully he has some idea of how they doin..

I think this deserves it's own thread.

I think I remember hearing that Melvin was about ready to go, but didn't want to risk him getting injured again in a OOC game.

all i know on Melvin is that i saw him limping on campus last week with one of his knees all wrapped up. I can not remember which knee, but i also remember he limped off towards the end of the army game.

Per NIU Beat Writer Ryan Wood from Huskiewire:

Spoke to Moore after the game last night, and he looked fine. Don't expect that to be too serious. Melvin was a complete mystery. Dave Doeren said he may have been able to go last night, but he wanted to do what was best for the season. I know he was a game-time decision. Doeren refused to name the injury, which is becoming a very popular trend for him. So it's going to be hard to predict Melvin's availability for next week.

I like the fact that he doesn't mention the exact injury. In some cases teams can try and exploit a corner or safety if it has to do with a leg injury.

Its getting like hockey. He has a lower body injury

Melvin seemed pretty bad off toward the end of the Army game. He came out and sat on the bench next to the east side stands for the rest of the game. Hopefully we get him back for CMU
