Suppose we lose both West Virginia and TCU?
Suppose we lose both West Virginia and TCU? I am bring this up given what has been said tonight. Well, here is the Big East Football, if we lose both West Virginia and TCU:
Missouri
Iowa State
Kansas
Kansas State
Baylor
UConn
Syracuse
Rutgers
Pitt
Cincinnati
Louisville
South Florida
We are still 12 BCS football playing schools. Do we stay with the basketball schools and go with the 12/20 model or do we keep the Big 12 name and go to 14 or 16 all-sports teams, which requires a split? Its a hugh decision.

I don't think TCU has anywhere else to go.

Neither do I, but TCU's AD sure sounded like a man looking in the article I read that was posted today.

I am sure you are right, that he is looking, but nobody is looking back and I think THAT is what has him worried. He needs the Big East to survive in a bad way.

I think the Big East will still be here unless the SEC goes to 16, too, triggering the B1G and the ACC to expand, too. Then it will be every dog for its own survival.

Then Syracuse will step up and dominate northeastern college football (again)-- and that's a good thing. (working on that anyway BTW).
Oh, but what if lose Syracuse, Louisville and UCONN and Rutgers and Pitt. Then I guess even BE basketball will suck.

If the Big East was to lose WVU and TCU, you can bet on this. You will have to worry more about the other losses than just those two. If those teams are gone, you are going to have to replace Pitt, Louisville, Rutgers and Syracuse. If its not for the Big East and the Big 12 taking WVU and TCU, you are then going to have to worry about replacing those that left for the Big 10 and ACC. The number of schools the SEC and Pac 12 decides to expand to, will determine the amount of collateral damage. Hold on...its going to be an interesting and bumpy ride!

syr needs to get a defence first, not taking anything away from your victory but things could have turned out diff if the wake qb didn't get hurt.

If the Big East is still playing football in 2012, TCU is not going anywhere even if they wanted to.

In a bizarre way, he's right--the Saltine Warriors need to be more of a force in Eastern football in the way Penn State once was, namely, that recruits see the Northeast as a destination, not as a ticket out to the Big 10 or the SEC. No offense to some of the others, but that isn't going to come from national attention to Rutgers or USF. Just as the Big East needs a strong basketball "brand" from teams like Georgetown and Villanova, it needs a stronger football "brand" out of Syracuse.

Where are we going? Think we want to play in the Big Poison Conference(Big 12)? No way on earth. Who else will have us, the ACC, SEC, Big 10, Pac-12, hardly.
