"Never" is a long time, and just because you weren't around or weren't paying attention doesn't mean it hasn't happened.

From a winless season to a perfect, unscored-upon season in two years (1941; 1943). From consecutive winless seasons to 8-2 in seven years (1961-62; 1968, independent then, so no conference championship to win). From a 27-game losing streak to MAC Champions in five years (1980-82; 1987).

Eastern can do it, because Eastern HAS done it.

The first examples you cite were when EMU was a NAIA/D-II school. The third time was nearly 30 years ago.

When one considers that EMU has played football for over a 100 years three times is not a lot.

How many times has U-M gone from winless to good? They've played football longer than EMU. EMU has had other good seasons, I was specifically picking out periods of improvement following winless seasons, because that's what we were discussing.

And besides, three times may not be a lot, but it's infinitely more than "never", which was what you asserted.

wolverineeagle and cmadler do you have history together in the past (maybe college roommate)? I think this has gone too far and should be taking off-line in emails between the two of you. Can someone please be the grown-up in the room? Others are seeing this thread and we want them to have the right perspectives of how we interact even if we disagree with each other. There are few things worse than losers who keep quotes from anonymous people on the internet from years before.

LJM, you are an embarrassment to humanity.

All, please play nice in the sandbox 04-cheers

I made the mistake of responding to the guy. We go back to another forum. I reported him for trolling. Hopefully, they do something about it.

"I cheer for EMU whenever they play Michigan, except football. I just love UM too much to ever cheer against them. But I will be wearing my EMU gear and hoping the Eagles put on a good performance."

You wrote that on mlive just before an EMU-wolverweenie football game. Go complain to the admins.

It is not cmadler, it is ljm. As you will note below, he has a fascination with me that goes backs YEARS on another forum. He has kept as a quote words I wrote years ago. I don't know what he hopes to accomplish by continuously using this quote. I don't hide my passion for UM football at all. My handle says it all.

This cite should remove his posts as trolling because that is what he is doing. Unfortunately, the moderators refuse to do so.

I'am enjoying nothing. You ought to direct those words to LJM, the Master Troll.

The fact is that EMU is full of people like me--people who cheer for other college programs in addition to Eastern. MSU, OSU, and UM being the most notable. EMU is a commuter school that has an almost non-existant fan base. I actually go to games, unlike most EMU students/alums.

You people should be upset with those who totally ignore EMU. At least I pay attention. At least I go to the games and follow recruiting. You cannot say that for 90% of alumni and students. Yet, you are going to attack me? Ridiculous.

The inferiority complex some display on here is downright pathetic. You ought to act like EMUSteve and treat UM as a distant cousin. You ought to be more concerned with Eastern than UM. Alas, some are so consumed by petty jealousy and bitter animus that they employ divisive rhetoric to try to cast those who have affection for UM out. (Like Eastern can really afford to lose fans!)

LJM was a long time member of the infamous Mlive Eagles forum. Along side his good buddy, Talons, he ruined that board by bogging it down in personal attacks. The amount of words he has written that have actually been of a substantive nature are less than 100. He simply adds nothing to whatever board he visits. No opinions, no analysis, nothing.

It does for those inclined to use it.

Just go to the profile of the poster you wish to ignore.

I could and have in the past rooted for UofM but not any more most of their fans treat EMU as an ugly redheaded stepchild.

Why does it distress you when I cite your own words? And why get so frustrated when the admins of this site won't ban me?

Shed your infatuation with the wolverwieners. Nothing in sports would be better than a victory over the weenies. It would be a sight to behold.

You mean wolverWEINERS. Anyways, it is annoying. Trolling is for children, not adults. Why you insist on cluttering up the board with your trolling is something only you can answer.

I stand behind the comment you quote. I will continue to cheer Michigan on as I did LONG before I went to Eastern.

It is none of your business whom I choose to cheer for. The fact is that I go to EMU's games, wear EMU gear, and visit these boards. I support Eastern athletics. That is more than I can say for 95% of EMU's alums and students.

Just let this crap go. No one wants to read this stupid debate.
