Cougars Finish In Third Place At Lady Vandal Invitational
Kim Welch and Jay-Lee Longbottom swing into Top 10 finishes.

MOSCOW, Idaho - The Washington State women's golf team finished in third place at the Lady Vandal Invitational at the University of Idaho Golf Course, Tuesday.

WSU was led by the Top 10 finishes of Kim Welch, who tied for second, and Jay-Lee Longbottom who tied for seventh place. The Cougars improved their scoring as a team through each round of the tournament, finishing the final round with a total of 314, the third best of the afternoon.

Welch recorded her eighth career Top 10 finish, and moved out of a three way tie for second place on the WSU career Top 10 list. Welch now sits just three Top 10 finishes away from tying first place Tasha Browner's 12.

Freshman Stephanie Parsley finished in a tie for 13th place, and received her second consecutive Top 25 finish in her young career at WSU. Donna Bell also finished in the Top 25 with a tie at 24th. Lindsey Bogden finished the tournament in a tie for 35th and her second round score of 76 was the second lowest score for a round in the tournament by a Cougar behind Welch's final round 74.

Rounding out the Cougar contingent, Katharine Dorris finished in a tie for 42nd, and Ashleigh Gilhully came away tied at 53rd.
