Where did you find this information? If this is accurate, a real disappointment for the true fans of college basketball in Little Rock, as Milwaukee would have been a much better opponent to give the fans at Jack Stephens than Texas Southern. This deal loses a lot of the luster if this change is correct.

I did originally post from that site that had Canisius in the mix at that point, with one team to be determined. Now Eastern Michigan is in the mix with Canisius out, and Texas Southern added.

What is really confusing to me is that post from the Milwaukee board, that not only had Milwaukee coming to Little Rock, but also had dates for games. That post was from August 16th, and I went back to check the Milwaukee board thread on their schedule, and there has been nothing posted after the August 16th post that indicates a change.

I guess we'll find out when our schedule is released.

I checked the information I had found on the IUPUI schedule that I posted on the other thread out this tournament, and found that IUPUI is slated to play at Little Rock and at Milwaukee, and has home games against Eastern Michigan and Texas Southern. But, no game against Michigan State.

So, it could well be that Michigan State isn't going to play everybody in this deal. As you found, Michigan State is going to Eastern Michigan, and we're pretty sure they have a home game against us and Milwaukee. So if they have no game against IUPUI, then they must also play Texas Southern at home. Odd, but with these deals, anything is possible since they are not really tournaments, they are just designed to get four games in for the price of one.

Here again is the info I found on the IUPUI schedule:

SPORTS: Men's Basketball Schedule Leaked
by Michael Hadley

The IUPUI Men's Basketball schedule, not due out until after Labor Day, has leaked and Campus Citizen has it!

The Jaguars will play just five away games (Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Louisville, Ball State, Arkansas-Little Rock, and Georgetown) during the first semester of classes, and all second semester games will be conference-only. IUPUI's first exhibition game will be played on November 1, and the regular season kick-off will be November 11. There are 30 games on this year's schedule, including two preseason match ups with local lower-conference opponents.

Times and Specific Locations will be released later by the IUPUI Athletic Department.

Complete Schedule:
Nov 1 - IU East (exhibition)
Nov 7 - Marian (exhibition)
Nov 11 - Anderson
Nov 15 - @ Arkansas - Little Rock
Nov 18 - @ Wisconsin - Milwaukee
Nov 20 - Eastern Michigan
Nov 23 - @ Ball State
Nov 26 - Texas Southern

Dec 3 - North Dakota State*
Dec 7 - @ Louisville
Dec 10 - Western Kentucky

My guess is that Texas Southern has been added, but Milwaukee is still in the deal. Like you said, everybody won't be playing every team in the "tournament". Also possible that Texas Southern was willing to play all road games, if the money was right. Michigan State will play all their games at home, so that has to balance out some way or another.

Pretty good windfall for them, since SWAC teams pretty much have to live on the road.

Except that the latest information you posted from Blogging the Bracket said that Michigan State was visiting Eastern Michigan. A great deal for the Hurons (know known as the Eagles)! I would bet you are correct that Texas Southern will play all of it's games on the road for compensation, unless the trade off for Eastern Michigan getting a home game with Michigan State was to agree to go to Texas Southern.

If that is the deal, then the set up would be like this:

UALR:
Michigan State - road
Eastern Michigan- road
Milwaukee - home
IUPUI - home

Milwaukee:

UALR - road
Michigan State - road
IUPUI - home
Texas Southern - home

IUPUI:

Milwaukee - road
Little Rock - road
Eastern Michigan - home
Texas Southern - home

Eastern Michigan:

IUPUI - road
Texas Southern - road
UALR - home
Michigan State - home

Texas Southern:

IUPUI - road
Milwaukee - road
Michigan State - road
Eastern Michigan - home

Michigan State:

Eastern Michigan - road
UALR - home
Milwaukee - home
Texas Southern - home

If this is the setup, I think we got one of the best, if not the best deal, other than Eastern Michigan who got a rare home game against not only a Big Ten team, but a home game against an in-state Big Ten team. And Michigan State (unlike some other program that comes to mind), is smart enough to realize that they will have plenty of support at Eastern Michigan's gym. Assuming it will not be played at some other site, like Detroit, etc. If that is the case, then even though the Spartans will be wearing green instead of white, they will have the most fans for sure.

GREAT deal for them if they get a game with Eastern at home.
