That and money fled the stock market.

A lot of today's rise is due to the announcement of the huge gold purchase made by the Bank of Korea. It's not the entire reason but a might big part.

Actually, if you put a graph of the debt ceiling increase over the past 50 years over the price of gold for the past 50 years you get overlapping graph. Based on this latest debt ceiling increase, the price of gold should be $1950 an ounce. QE3 would only make it worse. So by years end expect $2000 gold or near that.

Gee. I remember them saying that on all those gold commercials on the radio-LAST year. I guess if you say it enough times one year it will probably happen.
