15 minutes won't go viral.

And starting out w/ a plug from 2008 that champions Obama as much as Paul is not a good intro.

Keep watching. It shows Obama again towards the end with the brilliant dialogue of:

"Those who profess to favor freedom and yet depreciate agitation…want crops without plowing up the ground, they want rain without thunder and lightening. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters…. Power concedes nothing without a demand. It never did and it never will."

RE: Our first viral grassroots campaign video
This video was made from a rich tapestry of competing forces. If this is truly a video for Ron Paul, it does him a huge disservice. It associates him with some of the worst people out there whose actual goals are not to make America better but to actually bring her to her knees. I sympathize with Ron Paul's stances on Iraq and in the world community in general. I've read Ron Paul's "Manifesto", and this video does not keep with his views. The beginning of the video started out well, even if the footage was dated, but the second half was a horrible failure.

The major failure of this video is that it paints the U.S. military as the epitome of evil. However, a few isolated anecdotes about individuals behaving badly does not mean that the military is evil personified. These types of abuses by military forces transcend cultures and time. Soldiers from the beginning of time have abused the citizens. In reality, the U.S. military probably has one of the better track records of keeping abuse under control compared to other military forces like the Taliban, Saddam's army, the Iranian army, the Japanese, German and Italian armies during WWII, European armies of the 19th century, etc, etc.

If you do, in fact, believe in the evils of the military in general, then I will expect you to advocate the breakup of the United States completely. The U.S. needs to go back to the borders that were in affect when the Articles of Confederation were first ratified.

What a terrible video if the intent is to push RP's candidacy. Total fail.

While I like his stands on a number of economic issues, this video would not push me towards him but away from voting for him. Lots of message incongruity in there. Made by amateurs.

Luckily, it's not meant for this group. It's meant for blue dogs and Blue Republicans to get them to vote Ron Paul since there is no Democrat primary.

This one was crap.

14 min. of anti-war propaganda sandwiched between two skinny Ron Paul bookends. It doesn't do him any good. While he agrees with getting out/never getting in, he wouldn't use the same approach (US Armed Forces are evil) to get the point across.

War is hell, and we need to be reminded frequently of the death toll to us, the death toll of innocent civilians, and the war crimes committed by both sides.

This is what my county's RP Coordinator wrote,

"That may be good to show to the hard core anti-war/anti-military voters. I am not personally anti-military. There are some misfits to be sure, but the vast majority of our service people are the best we have in this country. But, I am sure this video would motivate some."

I too believe that the wars in Iraq, Afghanistan and Libya are counterproductive to the safety of our country, and our roots are to have a natural affinity to trade with all nations and let them chart their own futures provided they are not harming America. But this video is a huge disservice to Ron Paul because it makes him look he wants to see the decline and fall of the U.S.

The video leads people to believe that civilian casualties have never been higher due to the destructive power of the U.S. military. The actual truth is the U.S. military can engage military targets without killing innocent civilians much more easily than ever before. The way warfare is waged today is unprecedented vs. how warfare was waged in the past. The concept of "total warfare" is no longer used. In the past, wars were waged unilaterally against military targets and civilian targets equally. In the 19th century and earlier - when men were more "honorable" - the armies would pack minimal supplies of food and other basic necessities in order to live off the land that they were occupying. This was a huge strain on the occupied civilians and many lost their property, food and shelter as a result. The U.S. military today is NOT living off the land. They are self sufficient. You may not agree with the wars being waged right now - I don't - but the true fault lies with the leaders who sent the military there in the first place. It is not the military itself. Too bad the socialists who are being quoted in this video fail to distinguish that.

Yes, the people who made this video basically put Ron Paul in bed with the "worst dregs" of society - those who want to curb our freedoms in the name of the greater good.
