NIU was playing with half its starters in that game, so that result was to be expected. My only point was there is no need for the jealousy being expressed by many Toledo fans, and to be so bitter about it. There is always a chance you could make it closer next year. It is better to forget about the past and move on.

Hard to get jealous of a team you almost always beat. Or of their fans who whimper about the notion of staying in perfectly safe downtown Toledo or who come here and talk trash after being treated respectfully and given solid info re: places to stay, eat, etc. Those kind of people sort of define the word "troll".

I was told Maumee was nice, and it was a rat-infested hotel in Maumee.

The hotel was not rat infested-33 years of working in the worst neighborhoods of Toledo every day and I've seen two rats. Yoju're hilarious. As far as score defecit you guys have done a great job of holding us under 70 lately so maybe thereIS a rivalry.

Wow. Really? What a lame excuse. Even with your so called half starters gone, you really expected to give up 70 points???? If that is true, then you need to reconsider your lifestyle.

We did have an inordinate number of injuries that year. I mean, it was ridiculous.

And no, we didn't run up the score last year. Toledo scored a bunch of points in the 3rd quarter so we had to keep scoring too. But one late TD was a kick return for TD and one was a very long TD run - not exactly throwing bombs to score more. We've had too many times where Toledo came back in the waning seconds to beat us. We're not going to let that happen, I'm sure you understand.

Anyway, there's only 1 NIU poster who brought up the all-time records of the respective teams. And considering that Toledo posters like to bring up the all-time record they have against NIU (on the NIU board), it shouldn't be that surprising.
