I have heard just a few rumblings that there were a few really strong candidates (that might even surprise us all!!) but no word. We really need a good one and i would hope one with experience and not someone trying to just get their first crack at an AD job and then bolt!

This is so important to CU athletics with the Big South and I just hope we get someone stronger. Will the admin pay for any better could be another question?

Rumblings are we in the home stretch and the new AD will be named within the next week.

Press conference tomorrow (Wednesday July 20) at 2pm.

I am very excited from what I read and from watching the press conf this afternoon. This is extremely good news!

Sounds like a very good hire with a good fund-raising and marketing background in D-1. He's familiar with Campbell since he has served at ECU, UNCW, and Samford (TAAC/A-Sun).

Indicated the initial priority will be completing the football stadium.

Snooping around on the Samford message board indicates he was well-liked by Bulldog fans......

Good hire. From the sounds of it he understand what working at a smaller school is all about. He seemed to stress the development of our football facility. I am all for finishing that sucker and a few of the other on going campus projects.

I agree. I like the hire. we need a little "Fire in the Belly" as Dr Wallace stated. He accomplished quite a bit at Samford. The Samford we played against in the TAAC/ASun, is not the same Samford competing today in the SOCON.

I enjoyed meeting Mr. Roller and I think he is going to do well. I'm planning to speak to him soon and I'll keep everyone posted...
