Tough loss. Va Tech is a very good team no matter how you look at it. They are solid on D and they are good on O. WVU played well, especially against the run. However, turnovers killed them and they cant afford it against a team like VaTech.

VaTech will be the best team out of the ACC this year again.

WVU didn't play there best game but I think they played has hard as they could today.....Virginia Tech is just very good on both sides of the ball and Vick is the real deal....Just to show you how young the WVU offense is...look at who made the big plays for the Mounties today

Pat White-- RS Freshman
Steve Slaton- True freshamn
Jason Gwaltney-- true freshman
Darall Jalloh- RS freshman.....

-- the kids played hard and lost to a better team...can't ask for more then 100% effort

Watchout for the Eers next year. They will be the real deal for the next couple of years.

The thing that kills me about Rich Rodriguez is how he plays not to lose instead of being aggressive and playing to win in big games. At the start of the VT game he constantly tried little trick running plays. And then, after falling behind 10-0, he FINALLY opens things up. Then he played conservative at the end of the first half. Rick Minter used to do the same thing at UC. Just play to win consistently, don't let another team's strength dictate how you play.

RichRod is only playing to his team's strenghts Claw....got in inexperanced QB with some inexperanced recievers.....if you look at what Rich did at Clemson and @ Tulane when he had Shaun King you see isn't afraid to open things up...but untill these players get there feet wet and comfortable with each other....he is going to play towards his teams strenghts....the o-line and a ton of talent at RB (if Chris Henry had stayed for his senior yr things may be different).....also WVU has been successful against VT in the past by running straight at them and wearing them down....that probably was supposed to be the plan today

I was impressed with the Mountaineers. West Virginia played motivated football. Unfortunately, the turnovers really hurt you.

Watch out for the Mountainers next year.

Good point about this year's team, it is young, so I can understand that. I still think he plays to conservative in certain games.
