Mocs Ink Agreement With New Age Media Group
posted June 28, 2011

University of Tennessee at Chattanooga Athletics and Mocs Sports Properties, its exclusive multimedia rights holder, announced an agreement with New Age Media Group for broadcast of Mocs’ football and basketball coaches’ shows during the 2011-’12 athletic season.

Concurrent with this move from CSS to New Age Media Group, a total of 26 coaches’ shows will be produced and broadcast by New Age Media on its WDSI-TV FOX61 and MyNetwork TV Chattanooga television stations. UTC ultimately will double its availability of the shows as FOX61 reaches all television households in Chattanooga. Additionally, MyNetwork TV Chattanooga is a digital substation carried by all major cable/utility companies and is available over the air.

"We are very excited about our partnership with New Age Media Group," stated UTC Director of Athletics Rick Hart. "Our weekly coaches shows will now have unprecedented exposure to Mocs fans through FOX61 and MyNetwork TV Chattanooga. This collaboration will greatly enhance the quality of our product and hopefully be the start of a long-standing relationship."

Specifically, 13 football and 13 basketball shows will air on FOX61 immediately following the Fifth Quarter Show weekly football program, beginning August 31, then be re-broadcast on MyNetwork TV Chattanooga weekly starting September 2. The initial TV partnership is one year with the option for two more.

“FOX61 is proud to add the UTC Coach’s Show to its line up of locally produced sports programming,” added Tracye McCarthy, General Manager of New Age Media. “I am very excited to continue to partner with UTC to bring sports fans in the Tennessee Valley quality shows for both the football and basketball seasons.”

According to Hank Cobb, general manager for Moc Sports Properties, New Age Media will be a solid local and regional broadcast partner with multiple cross-promotion opportunities. “We strive to work hand-in-hand with UTC Athletics every day to ensure our fans are receiving the highest quality broadcast programming available, both through our radio and television partners,” he added. “To that end, we are thrilled with the broadcast schedule and agreement we have in place with New Age Media Group.”
