Kind of surprising we're so low, but that's probably because of the conference schedule. PSU, Maryland, Army, Nova is a pretty top notch OOC schedule.

I am sure that all FCS teams are seen as an "easy" game on the schedule according to this list.

RE: Steele's 2011 MAC's Toughest Schedules
Huskies have Army,Kansas,Wisconsin and CA poly...Surprised that it is #119 and only Ohio is softer?

Steele must be Giving Temole & da Huskies a lower difficulty because of PennSt is in Philly and Wisconsin game is in Chicago. Akron,BG and EMU all appear to have softer schedules.

Toledo plays Ohio State, Boise State, Syracuse, and New Hampshire. A FCS playoff team and three teams that played in bowl games last year and we are still pretty low despite being 2nd highest in the MAC. It's all because of those 8 conference games that people perceive as being SOS killers.

I am surprised WMU is on the bottom half. We're playing at U of M, Illinois and UCONN. You all must have some tough schedules.

That's a nice schedule for WMU. You could win all three of those games. Who knows how well Michigan has adjusted to Hoke at this point, and their defense was horrible last year. Illinois is definitely beatable. UCONN was good last year, but didn't really deserve a BCS bid (weak Big East). They have a new coach now and their offense really was very effective at all last year. Their defense seemed to keep them in every game.

I agree it shouldn't be near the bottom for SOS, but those are definitely winnable games for WMU.

Ball State has IU at a neutral site, Army at home, South Florida and OU on the road.
I think Oklahoma is preseason #1 but I could be wrong-o.

Ball State?

It's mostly because they play at Oklahoma and a lot of people think they are the #1 team heading into the season this year.

Toledo has a killer schedule.

I'm really interested to see how the Rockets fare against UNH. The Wildcats are 5-1 in their last 6 FBS games which is extremely impressive. New Hampshire is once again a preseason Top 10 FCS team this year. If UT doesn't come out expecting a battle their season could get off to a very dissapointing start.

For what ever it's worth, I'm not at all surprised that my Eagles are ranked so low. Opening the season against two HBCU will be fun to watch, but we'll probably be 2-0 before we make that trip down Washtenaw to the Big House.
Interestingly enough. If EMU can win more than 4 games this season, it'll be the most wins I've seen in a single season that I've seen in the 12 years that I've been a fan.

Buffalo has three tough ones: Pitt, UConn and Tennessee... I guess their one FCS game really brings their strength down.

Also, keep in mind in conference WMU plays at Toledo and at Northern Illinois

When Indiana is the opponent, Indianapolis is not a neutral site for anybody, certainly not Ball State.

Toledo plays the 2 best teams from the east too Miami and Temple. But I think having WMU and NIU (best teams from the West) are at home, it evens out. OSU will all of the turmoil and stuff may not look as tough as it did even 3 or 4 months ago to some people too.

8 wins, as usual. One loss in the East (probably Kent), struggle against West teams... beat the crappy teams, lose to the not-so-crappy teams. It's pretty routine at this point.

just the fact that 8 wins has become routine speaks volumes for how far this program has come under Coach Solich. that's amazing from where we were about 10 years ago. 8 wins was good for a few seasons combined! LOL

yes our schedule is soft but it's designed to get us into bowl games. we're still building this program up but we did beat the MAC champs last year so i think we're moving in the right direction.

I will take that Kent needs every win it can get.
