Um, no. I have no problems with him taking the money if he spent it where it would stimulate the economy. I guess one can argue that putting it towards the budget deficit would help. My problem with him is that he takes the money and turns around and bashes the program. THat is what makes him and a-hole-well that and he is a Republican. :) As for Paul, letting your constituants suffer is not my idea of compassion. I don't really have a problem with having government money go to those who are in need of help.

All 57 states put the money in the general fund. 03-banghead The stimulus money was political payoff. Those that don't bash it, are as ignorant as the day is long. It's a failure. When are lefters going to concede that it is fiasco.
If you want to bash it, fine. Just don't take the money. Pretty simple. Kind of like the Wisconsin governor. He gave back the high speed rail money. He thought it was a waste of money so he gave it up. I don't agree with him on this(or much else for that matter) but at least he didn't take the money and bash it at the same time.

Before you say it, I see disaster aid differently than infrastructure aid.

He turned down the money because the money offered by the fed was only fractionally part of the cost. The taxpayers would be on the hook for the rest, and any overruns. Roberta, you cannot be so dense.

Who gives a f'uck if they bash it. You are so ignorant and dense. Did the states create the crisis? The crisis has to lay at the foot of the fed's policies. Frank charged with the oversite of Fannie/Freddie did not do a damn thing about the problem until it became a monumental crisis. Never let a crisis go to waste.

RE: Subtle, but so very true.
So, let me get this straight...

-I pay this guy some money, understanding that I will be getting it back in a few months.
-Guy gives me back my money, and tells me it is supposed to be used for socks.
-I take the money (because its mine, remember?) but I wear sandals, and socks with sandals just doesn't look right.
-I then can't tell the other guy he's an idiot for telling me to use it on socks?

Should I not take my money back because I don't need/want socks?

Do you southerrn guys not know how to read? I was actually COMPLIMENTING the Wis. Gov. 03-banghead Instead of taking the money and bashing it, he said "No thanks" and bashed it. As I said, I don't agree with his decision but at least he isn't being a hypocrite. I do think that Paul was wrong for not accepting help for his constituants who were in need of help.

And, I think he was wrong for declining the money. It is his constituents money. I hope he tried to find a way to funnel the money into something useful for the state, and couldn't make it work. I'm glad he didn't take it and invest it how he was told, which would cost his state money.

I think that it is wrong for someone else to take my money, skim some off the top, and then give it back telling me how I have to spend it. Let me keep my money and spend it however I want to.
