Obama took a trip to Ireland that he now wishes he never did -- it's been humiliating gaffe after humiliating gaffe. What started as an atrocious attempt at an Irish accent and a pathetic limousine fail only got worse as the day went along. The greatest failure of the day by far was when Obama attempted to toast the queen. What happened next resulted in video so embarrassing it defies words. Watch if you must, but if uncomfortable moments make you squeamish. Read the lefters.
Poor President Obama just can’t seem to get the whole etiquette thing down. Maybe he’s just not good at surrounding himself with smart people (coughRobertGibbscough), or maybe he just doesn’t have the experience a President needs to navigate those tricky state dinners…or international issues…or the economy…or Libya…or Israel…ok…we’ll stop there. So what was the latest snafu on Barack’s international tour?
While visiting the UK, Obama attended a dinner with Queen Elizabeth and a number of British officials. He decided to raise his glass and make a toast – and ended up speaking over their national anthem. Watch the video,
Is it possible he lacks any and all situational awareness? Glenn sure seemed to think so.
“Nobody lifts their glass,” Glenn said.
“Nobody else does because their national anthem is playing and he awkwardly goes, oh, crap, put downs his glass and stands there and then it continues to play for 25 seconds,” Pat said. “Every single time there’s an international get-together, there’s a screw-up like this. It’s really bad.”
“Nobody in the Middle East is afraid of us. Look at this guy. They’re watching this tape right now with their head in their hands going– Mahmud, are you embarrassed? I’m embarrassed. Sure, we want to kill all the Americans, but this is just embarrassing,” Glenn joked.
Glenn wondered if The President thought that he was getting his toast was getting some impromptu theme music – a guess the President proved right.

Very fair and objective. If the byline is to embarrassing for SUMO to print you know it's from a wingnut source or maybe he wrote it himself (the style IS familiar)

I guess neither did Milli Vanilli... it was their sound people.... It wasn't Janet Jackson, but her costumer. It isn't the race car driver, but the mechanic... well... maybe that one fits ;-)
Obama hired the guy/girl... and when a shift supervisor on an oil rig screws up and causes a disaster, we certainly blame the CEO and talk about why he needs to be fired/lose his bonus. Obama's staff certainly didn't sign the book 2008

Boy, if this incoherent mess isn't proof that we are making way to much of this I don't know what is!

I'm sorry you have weak reading comprehension. Here, I'll say it more concisely so you don't have to struggle with it.... sorry, Tom, but I think this is about the third time you've said this about my comments. I guess i should just be intentionally offensive like many of you...

O clearly screwed up. Once he heard the national anthem, he should have stopped immediately instead of chattering on. Whether what went before was his screw-up, or some staffer who failed to brief him properly, cannot be determined from the information given.
