i would say that schools push junk foods on kids with their carb laden lunches and ubiquitous vending machines

Wow, I never knew Ronald McDonald was the reason kids grow up to be fat. I guess the Hamburglar is to blame for kids getting into crime.

Blame anyone but the parents who feed their kids this stuff.

So, are playgrounds good or bad now? They're bad if they lure kids in to eat unhealthy food, but then again, they keep the kids active.

Now if McD's had a video game arcade. . .

Those playgrounds are disgusting. They might as well be playing in the soiled laundry room of a hospital.

Have you ever taken a microscope into the ball pit? You can't see germs with the naked eye.

Door knobs can't be avoided (although I use paper towels to open them whenever possible). McD's playgrounds can be.

RE: Time to put down Old Yeller?
Todays kids are fat because they are not encouraged to go outside and play. Rather they spend hours in front of the TV, Computer or playing games like XBox, Wii, etc. All the while, scarfing down bags of chips and liters of pop.
School lunches have very little, if anything to do with our child obesity epidemic. If not for school lunches and breakfasts, many kids would get nothing to eat during the day. Their worthless parents are too lazy to work and provide food for them. Or the parents blow the money on booze and drugs.
