With BELMONT going to the Ohio Valley, Campbell moving to the Big South and Lipscomb following Belmont, Jacksonville is our only nemesis. And if Cliff Warren ever leaves Jacksonville, that is another opportunity.

Think about it!

Good move for Belmont. Good geographical fit, and solid rivals. If Lipscomb can get the invite they would move as well, but I am not sure if that will happen. ASun is all of the sudden very winnable.

The ship is sinking and it's time to get off before others beat us to it. KSU has made three intelligent moves that place them in a strong position to exit the conference. If Appalachian State departs the SoCon then Kennesaw must seize that spot at once. The Atlantic Sun is a sinking ship. Even the die hards are now admitting it.

Kennesaw is in a good position to capitalize. We have football on the books, a new AD, and a president that is a forward thinker. I am not worried about the future.

[b][i]Agree this is great news. But not sure how Belmont leaving helps our current mess??

We still are looking at not being elg for post season play, with a awful APR and academic record, coming off consecutive 20 loss seasons.

But we do have the leading returning scorer...if he comes back?!?

Yes it makes the conference easier to win. But it also makes the league less attractive nationally.

Time will tell I guess?

It only hurts all other teams. Belmont was already be a TOP team this next season, and then the league was going to be winnable by another school 2012-13 -- which is now when they are leaving. Another slap to the A-Sun they will try to deliver is win on the way out. Hopefully someone can get hot in the conference tourney.

I just put this on the ETSU board.. the last college basketball conference ratings I saw had the ASun 16th, the SoCon 19th, the Big South 25th and the OVC 28th. So getting Belmont is a really good move for the OVC. and maybe good for Belmont as well..time will tell.
