Why are they the evil empire? Because they win every year? They certainly didn't purchase their team like the Yankees? Almost every good player on that team is home grown or found and brought in before they were good.

The near CCCP colors and the fact they play dirty. I also hate the because the beat the Canes in the finals in 2002.

So good that guys will take a pay cut to play for them. Only hear good things about ownership (from the players) and the organization. They seem to treat the players right. Hard to call them the "evil empire" in the salary cap era.
