Any MAC team need a QB?
Some of you may have been following this, but NC State's QB Russell Wilson (3563 yds, 28 TDs in 2010) is in a bit of a pickle. His coach is releasing him from scholarship because he thinks he found someone better. I've never seen a situation like this before.

Wilson did nothing wrong, but his coach promised the incoming freshman that he would start, and that he would kick the current starter off the team so he wouldn't have to compete for the spot.

So if any MAC team needs a top-level BCS QB to come in and play for a year, he's available.

RTA before commenting, because there is more to the story than the coach thinking he's found someone better.

Yeah his coach let him go because he thought he was spending too much time focusing on his professional baseball career and not enough time committed to football. Pretty stupid either way, but there's more to it than a freshman being promised the starting QB spot...

When he's leading the ACC in total yards and breaking school records left and right, I wouldn't care if he wanted to play for the baseball team instead of going to spring practice.

Why on Earth would a 'top-level BCS QB' transfer to a MAC school and sit a year out? If he was so good and going to sit a year out anyway, then he'd be looking at other BCS schools. If he doesn't want to sit out he'd be going the D-IAA route.
