Quite often and it's usually the MAC or Sun Belt teams left out.

Its more of an issue now for the MAC than it was in recent years when the MAC had a good shot at getting 5 in the posteason. 6-6 is now an allowable record and now BCS conferences can send out at-large schools at 6-6 potentially over 6, 7, or even 8 win MAC teams (as we found out with Temple last year).

The MAC only sent 4 to bowl games last season and wouldn't have sent anybody at-large if it wasn't for USC's probation. We are very much looking at a 3 bowl year if the Fiesta and Insight aren't certified.

The MAC needs to get a 4th bowl more now then ever with 6-6 BCS teams eligible to take at-larges.

Even after the drought Kent has had when its come to bowl games at I wasnt upset they didnt get a bowl game at 6-6. If you take away everyones FCS wins and most of those 6-6 teams drop down to 5-6. Troy and Temple are the only ones that truly got screwed on that list having 8 wins and sitting at home has to take alot out of a team.

If the NCAA doesn't certify the Fiesta, Insight and Ticket City dropping the total games back to 32 I suppose they could once again require a winning record (7-5) for bowl eligibility.

That would be great in my opinion, even if that limits the MAC to only 3 regular bowl tie-ins.

The MAC now has 11 teams not guaranteed a bowl bid, most conferences don't even have 11 teams total. The closest non AQ comparison is the Sun belt with +7, the worst AQ conf is only +4.

So welcome to the MAC, I guess.

I have another graph when looking at from the perspective of geography makes the MAC look like the most sensible non-AQ conference. At least the MAC has an identity, the MWC/CUSA/SBC/WAC are all strewn about.

Quote:With the changes moving forward, CUSA and the MWC are hardly distinquished from the WAC and SBC. All 4 conferences have far flung geographies with fly over zones. They all seriously need to be reorganized.

I: Hawaii, SJSU, Fresno, SDSU, UNLV, Nevada, Boise, Idaho, USU

II: Wyoming, CSU, Air Force, New Mexico, NMSU, UTEP, UTSA, UNT

III: Houston, Tulsa, Rice, SMU, Tulane, TX State, La Tech, ULL, ULM, Southern Miss.

IV: A-State, Memphis, MTSU, USA, Troy, UAB, WKU, Marshall, ECU, UCF, FAU, FIU

Maybe they should limit it to .500+ conference records. That would be ideal for the MAC.

Oh, by the way, welcome to the fun. If you mean the first person from UMass to join after the announcement, you may be correct. However, there were at least three members of your fanbase to be on this board before you. 05-stirthepot
