RE: Lewis Preston
Good find Wow and it is official here is the link to the release on Kennesaw.edu.

http://web.kennesaw.edu/news/stories/ken...ball-coach

This is an exciting hire in my opinion. Good experience with good programs and specializes in big men, something KSU and the league as a whole struggles with. Now lets see what he can do with this program as we go on into the future!

RE: Lewis Preston
Wow, went from a high school coach to an assistant that has a national championship. I hope this is a sign of things to come from our new AD. It's going to be exciting if we get this train moving again. Felt like it slowed a little during the transition years.

Seems like a great hire -- this far exceeded my expectations. Both the AD and coaching searches have shown a willingness to "go national" and not just think about short-term regional aspirations. Welcome aboard, Coach Preston.

Pretty excited about the hire. A good, up and coming, young coach. Considering the comments posted about the player's twitter pages it will be interesting to see how things assimilate with our team. We have some talent returning, so he should have a decent chance to be competitive from the get go.

I like the hire also. My only concern is that I was hoping for someone that had some ties to Atlanta's AAU scene.

RE: Lewis Preston
The comments are probably because the program they signed on for has vanished in the off season and is starting new which may or may not include some of them. I anticipated that.

Just because it is obvious doesn't mean that they aren't going to complain. They got brought in under one system and now have to learn a whole new system. It is natural that there would be some complaints.

Plus from the sound of it coach Preston is going to be a run you ragged, do it till you get it right, coach that comes from a list of programs that don't put up with anything but 100%.

I wouldn't expect or accept anything less of D-I athletics. There's plenty of other student athletes waiting to take your spot.

RE: Lewis Preston
We can't afford any turnover to be honest. That is what killed our APR in the first place. It wasn't failing classes that cost us scholarships it was transfers. I expect our full team to return next year minus maybe 1 transfer. Ladaris and Markeith have already burned their redshirts, so if they transfer they would have to go DII which isn't gonna happen. Spencer is a senior. The kid from Duquesne just used his redshirt year to transfer to us. There has been some talk of the Arizona boys being homesick, but I just can't see Anderson transferring after all the minutes he got last year. He is a prime position to play big minutes again.

I don't foresee much turnover, and I think that is a good thing.

LOL! When you only win 8 games there is nowhere to go but up, so that is a good thing!

RE: Lewis Preston
Press conference scheduled for tuesday at 11 am in the convocation center. open to the public. This is a facebook event created for it http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=150363381696373

It involves an introduction, press conference, and a question and answer session.

For those of us non-students, parking will be available in the east deck next to the convocation center.

Anybody else planning on attending?

RE: Lewis Preston
I don't think it really matters at this point. If Preston wanted to clean house it would just set us further back with APR. This would set us back with scholarships meaning that he would be getting rid of people with no chance of being able to replace them. We have some talent.
