I've said it many times and I'll say it again. Troy has the best band in the country. And this is coming from someone with an instrumental music education degree.

They don't even have the best music program in the conference. That title would belong to UNT.

This wasn't posted to show superiority... All SBC schools have fine music programs. Leave it at that.

I was responding to bmw. I'm not disrespecting Troy; Troy has a great program. I just think UNT's program is easily the best in the league.

UNT's is the best in the league, by far. But Troy has the best marching band in the league, and one of the best in the country. MTSU's is a very close second, if not tied for best.

Some of the UNT fans went crazy when Troy's pep band was more impressive then their own full band in Denton, so they blamed it on the very small speakers the director uses to speak to the players, and the small speaker for the bass guitarist.

Congrats on playing in Canada. Good recognition for your program. Foreign travel sells your school ans well as the good old USofA. On a side note, UNT's One O'Clock Lab Band perform in Bangkok, Thailand a while back for the royal family.

And USA's Trumpet Ensemble went to Australia last spring and performed at the ITG (International Trumpet Guild) conference. As troy4ever stated, all programs in the Sun Belt are fine.

Go SBC! 04-cheers

Congratulations. These are great ambassadors of good will and a credit to individual universities.
