As you know (or don't?), Europe's ugly debt hit a crisis point last year as well, most notably in places like Greece last year and more recently in the UK. And of course any tiny austerity measures were typically met with violent street protests and masked rioters, even more violent than a ********* gathering if you can believe it (heh). Just curious on what your read was on EU fiscal governance and even the subsequent credit default swaps? Was European trickle-down practice the main catalyst?
Yeah, I heard about those. I also heaard that England went your way of cutting back dramatically and the economy started to crumble. Of course, this is what you want so Obama doesn't get re-elected. Since you are independently wealthy, you ahve nothing to worry about if the economy does crash into a depression.

Your only concern is if your Food Stamps and Section 8 Voucher gets paid.

I have NEVER used either. I make too much for either one. Nice try though. Your fellow tea baggers would be proud of you.

And I bet it just pissed you off when they told you you were just outside the loving embrace of the government.

I sure you have your own special definition of Never. Just like Clinton's definition of "Is" is. Or Obama's "created or saved". You know something where the goal posts keep moving.

No, that would be Merriam-Webster's definition of those words. It's sad that you have to commit Bidenism in order to make a personal attack.

Hey, don't knock old Joe for plagiarism.

All his original ideas are pretty stupid.

If we become a Third World Country, does that mean AK-47s for all? I'd also like a Toyota Hilux with a bed mounted .50cal, to keep the locals at bay.

You've been corrected that this is false... and Texas is in MUCH better shape than Washington with a much lower tax burden.... and ftr, he was a "Clinton" Democrat until 1989, leading Gore's Texas campaign.

Obfuscation isn't going to help you

But thanks for assuming you know exactly what I support. Indeed, I am looking around me, and I see administration after administration expanding entitements and pet projects that bankrupt the country. Each handout immediately considered 'vitally important', of course. Even if we took the 'screw-the-rich' approach and taxed 99% of their paychecks, it'd only put a small dent into the issue. That's how much we're in debt. It takes removing your head from "some other place" to put together those numbers and set aside your executive branch Party loyalty, but that's the hard reality.
Now you are trying to do the same thing you told me not to do. You are assuming I think I am for raising taxes on the rich to 99%. Sorry to burst your bubble(conservatives are good at growing bubbles and having them burst) but I have never said that taxes should go that high and I have never said we shouldn't cut spending. Neither is what I believe at all.

Nope. I just presented an extreme example (99% of paychecks) to make a point, but didn't apply it to you or imply that's what you said. There was a youtube clip posted here a few weeks ago that showed if you dumped all the billionnnaires' accumulated wealth into the debt, you'd only take a modest bite out of it.

As if this was some sort of comedic play, you immediately put words into my mouth in your very next post.

If a president chopped down the deficit and got rid of bloated waste, and all the while kept taxes constant (I'll even settle for keeping it the same for a while as opposed to cutting), I give praise where praise is due. I could care less about political party affiliation.

If you have a few minutes of extra time, do a search of my posts pre-2009. I was highly critical of Bush's spending and Iraq. Hell, before Libya, I offered praise to some of Obama's foreign policy decisions against the grain of many conservatives' views. Sorry to burst your bubble, but "hoping" for the American economy to fail because of a "D" or "R" next a president's name is not in my vocabulary.
