So what is next for Ingle?
Today's MDJ shed some light on the subject of what is going on with Ingle. As many people have stated it was a bittersweet thing to see Ingle go. While he was struggling to put wins together and keep academic progress at the proper level, he was still a major blessing to KSU. This is why I was excited to hear that Tony Ingle has gone nowhere as of now. He is still going to be a payed member of the KSU Athletics Staff. His primary function will be to do fund raising, something that KSU could really use. This is a perfect role for the man that always had the best one liners. While the article points out that Ingle might not be here to stay at KSU, it is nice to know that things were settled and that KSU is doing something for the man that gave so much to the institution.

Which is why it was so stupid for Whitlock to throw him under the bus when he was fired. He should have been celebrated not scapegoated for an underfunded academic support staff. I am not sure what is left for Ingle. I would love to see him get another shot at coaching. I still think he has some legs left and I know there are kids out there that would benefit from his tutelage.

I could not agree more. Tony Ingle is about as good as they come. Keep in mind just 10 years ago, there was no basketball program worth speaking of.

Tony is a class act thru and thru. As were his coaching staffs.

You can't throw a guy under the bus, when he has already taken the position of laying down in front of the tires. He may have been a nice guy, may, but in the end to say his teams were well coached and that there was no basketball at KSU prior to his arrival is simply incorrect.

He did have one liners, but using the same one's over and over gets stale. The end result was a direct product of his own doing. It will be tough for a man who didn't acknowledge alumni to be a successful fundraiser. Not impossible, but tough.
