4700 or so like Butler could achieve what they did, but just as amazing was Richmond reaching the Sweet Sixteen with an enrollment of around 2000. And VCU, although with an enrollment of around 30,000 if I recall, is a school somewhat similar to UALR. An urban type non traditional school. So there is no reason why UALR couldn't be developed into a player on the national scene with the right backing. Maybe we're finally moving into a new era, with the trip to the NCAA tournament. But we have to build on that. We can't sink back into the funk we were in for the last 20 years.

Something that Porter said in his press conference. They were going to build a program at Loyola to where they can recruit good enough players in order to schedule teams that will allow them to get at large bids if they don't win their conference tournament, since the Horizon League has traditionally been a one bid league, just as the Sun Belt has been.
Hopefully that's where we're headed. We have to recruit players who can beat the Missouri States, Wright States, Creightons on a regular basis. That's the first step in the process.04-cheers
