RE: Ford Might Be Leaving
Alright for those of you argueing, this is sports. Everyone has an opinion, people debate it and tell eachother they are wrong all the time, just watch ESPN. Don't take things people say personally or as an attack on you everyone is entitled to their opinion even if it's disagreeing with yours. This is all for fun because I'm guessing like most of you, I come here because everyone I know barely knows anything about Kent State sports so we need a place to talk. Why try and push people out who make this site fun? Don't question how big of a fan someone is based on an opinion they have about a sport because they wouldn't be here if they didn't care. Most of you would say I'm not a fan if you really knew me, so I'll just say it now. I have not or will not ever attend Kent State, for next fall I am leaning towards Ohio State, but am still deciding between OSU, Purdue, Temple, and University of Illinois. Not because I don't like Kent, but simply because they do not have my major. I always wanted to go to Kent since I was 3. My Grandma worked on campus as a sorority Mother, so I was down on campus atleast once a month, I always wore Kent state shirts and hats, at 6th grade camp I even got the nickname "Kent" because I wore all the KSU stuff I had everyday, and growing up Kent was the team I played with in EVERY college sport video game. So does this mean I am not a fan? Does this mean I can not have an opinion? Everyone comes here because we are some of the most serious Kent fans out there, don't push opinions and knowledge away. Sports are for the purpose of entertainment, have fun on this board.

Barndog, front row behind the bench. Some jerk stands up with 10 seconds left. Are you stalking me?

Thanks! Just what we needed!

I added some more. Not sure if the last one will make people laugh or cringe.

Who was drinking yesterday during Geno’s BU presser? Don’t watch the last clip.

If I am the AD I hire Sendy, then start a money campaign for the practice facility. Enough of us fans are ready to put some cash down to give this team the facility they deserve.

I wish someone in the athletic office would read these things we say everyday. I've read some very good ideas in the past that unfortunatly will never be thought of in there. But yes some sort of donations need to start coming in and soon, but it seems any extra money is going to football. Give the marketing students a competition to come up with the best way to promote sports. Have the fashion majors make new shirt designs or something to try and get students involved. We should have no problem selling out every single basketball game with 40000 students.

RE: Ford Might Be Leaving
That they do. They listen fairly well. I was at a gymnastics meet and happened to be sitting next to Nielsen. After the 3rd rotation no score went up and after the 4th rotation the same thing. I finally found out the score of the meet after the CMU web site put it up 1.5 hours after the meet. That day I sent him an e-mail and told him college students ought to be able to look at 6 numbers throw out the low one and add the remaining 5 in some time less than an hour. The next two meets the score went up within 1 minute after the rotation. A problem that existed for 15 years was corrected with one e-mail. It's a silly example but it tells you they do listen and I am sure they have gotten more than one idea from this board.

LOL! Pure coincidence. Was just looking for more KSU basketball videos. Didn't realize you were in another video. You sure do get around. :)

I cant say for a fact that I personally affected anything, but I did send an email to the department about the website a few years back. In the email I sent links to high school websites that were more professional then Kent's at the time. A few months later they updated the site. Which is so much better then what it used to be.

Milton (illinois)
Dana:I know it's low on everyones radar but Bradley University just hired the head coach from Kent ST. i believe?...what can you tell me about him if anything?

Dana O'Neil
Milton: Sure, Geno is a terrific coach, great man. Has done a solid job with Kent State in a very good MAC Conference. Think it's a great hire.

Enough fans willing to put money down for a facility?

Really????

Wright State has a really nice one -- cost the about 7 million.

The Kent fan base is going to pony up 10-15 million for a similar facility?

Talking about a dedicated practice facility, not a new arena. Obviously, alum/fan contributions would be just part of the financing picture. Unless my powerball hits....

IMHO I think some people aren't thinking through the practice facility statements. Personally, I think we have a significant advantage by practicing on the court and rims that we play our games on. Maybe it's not as big an advantage as I think, but just my two cents.

I tend to agree with danny on that one, but one thing I would add to that would be that they should get priority court time, and not have to fight for that time with the badminton team(joke). Mens's basketball likely puts more butts in seats(in the MACC) throughout the year than any 1 other sport/event. Give them their earned time. Until someone else has greater annual attendance in the MACC they should play second fiddle to men's bb. Of course I would love to see a dedicated practice facility and/or new arena, but I am a realist.
