Press box definitely needs the love. And we sold out the endzone expansion it would stand to reason to go ahead with some more.

I think I understand the plan to be to execute a new press box/luxury deck to mirror the Pirate Club Level... and have an upper deck above that deck to mirror the other side almost completely. The real differences as I understand them are the addition would feature an actual building running from the ground to the upper deck containing offices / training rooms etc.

Either way I'll likely never step foot in it. The 34 Million dollar amount I have seen I would assume is only for the press box and luxury deck... with the upper deck being the phase II planned for a little further down the road. I would love it if the 34 also included the building part of this masterplan.

I would love to see some stands on the Murphy Center side.. But it probably wont happen.. Just some not a whole side like the regular ones.. Just like a 500 seats. I dont think it would work though

THE MURPH poses a interesting problem.

It cost a ton to build and it is "state of the art" BUT to do anything else with DF and/or Minges the Murph's location and styling put it out of place.

Do we demolish it and rebuild the whole area at the DF, Scales, Ward, Minges, Murph connector?

Its a nice building but i think it should have been further away..

The Murph was constructed without a proper acknowledgement to our future growth and potential. It was short-sighted. It was kinda like building a multi-million dollar house at sea-level on the Outer Banks.

It surprises me as many other athletic developments took future expansion possibilities into consideration... even Minges was designed to allow for further expansion. The Murphy center was "nifty" at the time but it is inevitable that it will one day need to be, in my opinion, completely demolished. That won't be for a while mind you and I would put minimal money into renovating and retrofitting between now and the eventual replacement date. I have never been lucky enough to experience the game-day role it plays and would like to see it become more of a public Hall of Fame / Recruiting Showcase when the first phase of the expansion occurs.
